Want to build a night hunting rig, need ideas!?!

4 swivel bass boat seats, rails fold down for driving through trees, low clearance areas, ect. Built it myself and have right at $450.00 in all materals. Floor is expanded metal with a rubber mat, very quiet.

Also has 2 cig. plugs, 1 in front and 1 in rear. Has extra battery in the bed of truck with a wire running to the alternator with a toggle switch, so you can use 2 lights and run the battery dead if you want too, still have truck battery isolated, just flip the switch on and charge while driving to the next stand.
 
That is definetaly the best rig I have seen yet!!! It is really similar to what we are going to start building this week. How big is the actual platform and how many guys fit comfortably in it? Do you just ratchet strap it down in the bed of the truck? Thanks alot for the pics, that rig is awesome!
 
The floor is 7ft. long and 5ft. wide, it's a 6 ft. bed and floor extends about 1 ft. over the cab. It will hunt 4 big boys very comfortable. Where the square tubing comes together at the bottom there I made 6in.x6in. steel plates out of 1/4" flat, then welded the tubing to the plates, then drilled 1 hole in each plate and drilled 4 holes in the bed and bolted it down with 4- 1/2" bolts. just take the 4 bolts out and rack comes out, so it can be put in another truck and strapped or bolted down.
 
What??? An Aggie that can't figure out how to fabricate a mount for a spot light?? Just kidding. My wife's whole family went to A&M amd all of my family went to UT. We have lots of fun. Just make something out of 3/4" lightweight square tubing and weld a 3/8" bolt to it, or what ever size the hole is in the bottom of your light.
 
me wants an aluminum platform now. My 08 duramax gets 10 mpg hauling my current stand and 4 guys. It really sucks the diesel. which really sucks when your stopping to fill up every 200 miles.
 
He's no midget...there are some BIG cats up there. Totally different animal from those you find if far S. Texas.

You can build a rack large enough to accomadate three shooters but you you have to set the chairs up right and have a large enough platform. We run two chairs and have two shooters up with one or two down depending on how many of us are hunting. On all night hunts it gives you a chance to get a cat nap on your down set. Here is a photo of mine, I have it set up where you can remove the other chair iF your hunting alone. I prefer to have my light set up on my chair and not have someone holding it for me because if your not exactly behind the light sometimes you have trouble seeing the eyes, and that can cause you to loose a critter /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif!!!

Thanks. I need to show some updated pictures with the new kill basket up front and the fox pro sp55 speakers mounted on the bumper. The fox pro now gets to stay in the truck so I forget to pick it up alot less often.
 
I would really like to see that. That is exactly what I planned to do with the sp-55 speakers. Sounds like you use 2 external speakers. How much do they reduce your battery life, and which foxpro are you using them on? I was planning on only one external speaker mounted to the front bumper, using a Fury.
 
Is that like a up right stand for deer hunting or something? I have been thinking about that same type of thing for what I do. That would work out great for just one hunter kind of what I do.
 
Here is mine I just got done....floor is 6 wide 8 long...1 foot over top of cab...11 feet from top of rail to the ground...5 feet from the floor to the bed.
