wanting 22-243 input

I could love a 6mm/o6AI... that would be a sweet gun, been thinking about building one for a while now. 95 Bergers in the 3600 area would be pretty sick. I'm a believer that all good things come from a 6mm bore... even though I like the .25's a bunch too.

Funny how mileage varies. I've been there, done that with a bunch of AI and necked down cases. Built a 6/204 once, a couple 6/284s, a 25/284, two 25-06AIs, a 6.5 WSM, .22-250AI, 280AI and enough others that I've come full circle... I can't see any use for pretty much any of them.

You and JB are right, I apologize for being a Richard Cranium... I should let it be. My problem is, often the numbers don't add up. We encourage guys to build stuff... state numbers that WE got... and rarely can anyone else make achieve them within reason.

I like guns too... way more than I ought to (at least that's what my wife says), and should encourage folks to play... not discourage.

Again... to you and JB (and anyone else I offended) I appologize. Keep shooting.

QB, not a problem. 3600 with an 80vld and a mild load does sound a little out of reason but having a 30" tube also contributes to it some.
I apologize also for getting a little out of hand.
We're all here for the same reason

No problems man, now lets get those reamers back out and see what else we can design

Random question on an old thread but I am very interested in the 20-6.8 spc. Have you done much with it as far as load development and using on critters? What kind of preformance have you found?

I'll bite. None of those guys have posted in years.

I know where there's a barrel, a bunch of cases, dies and a neck turner and a short ton of loading data. Maybe in a couple of months the curtain will be pulled back. I know a guy...LOL

Look up 20 pdk, you'll find more information. I'm saving up parts for a 20 cal build and really want to know how it feeds from a bolt rifle. Do you have any info on that Greg?

It will feed like any 6.8. No one sells one so the way to do it is take a Savage and massage the feed lips on a 22-250.

The PDK stuff is translatable but a word to the wise/cautious. We've shot some of that data in other chamberings and it is hot as the hubs of Hades. In some cases, pun, we couldn't even get the charge weights in the case.

I will be shooting this in tandem with a 20 LBC. Same case capacity so only the accuracy will be a big head to head. The 6.8 can be loaded hotter but on same same charges it will be educational. I've shot the LBC extensively in an AR so have not pushed the envelope as much as I can on a bolt gun.

I would hope somewhere North of 4100 without a real strain. The 20 LBC I shot showed that looking possible but I was running an AR and didn't want to get too crazy.

Quarterbored, thanks for sharing...kinda came out of the closet on this thread, Eh? Hee Hee!

Too bad we live so far apart, we would keep the lathe busy!!!

Well of you wouldn't mind post a summary or shoot me a pm with what you find. I've been thinking really hard on a 20-224 weatherby ultra mag, for its sex appeal, and 20 ppc velocities in a case that will feed reliably. I'd really like to see 35s at 4250 or 40s at 3950 without going 20-250.

If you are speaking to me I 'll certainly do that. Oh, and a 20-250 is already in the works too...LOL. Something for every bolt face size.
