Weatherby Mark V .223?

I have an opportunity to buy a Mark V Accumark in .223, but I'm having trouble finding any information online about them regard rate of twist, reloading info, etc. It has a shorter bull barrel, don't know the length.

Does anyone have further knowledge or information regarding it, or maybe steer me in the right direction I'm overlooking?

Thanks!

It doesn't state that it's an accumark on the barrel, it just says Mark V, but he says it's an accumark. It's a matte finish 22(ish?)in. bull barrel. I still can't find a darn thing about them.

That's what I am thinking

This kinda sounds like a Weatherby Super Varmint Master with the barrel cut down. I have one in a 22-250 and they came with a 26" heavy stainless fluted Kreiger barrel. They do look like an Accumark except for the heavy barrel. They quit making them a few years ago though.

They are nice rifles.

I'm sure it's not a Vanguard. After looking up the serial number, it's a rifle they made from 2004-2008. It's a Mark V Special Varmint Rifle (SVR). 22" Kreiger barrel. 1/12 twist.

The reason we thought it was an accumark was because the stock differed from the super varmint master. The SVR being black web, and the SVM being the tan.

I think I'll go pick it up.

Here it is. I might make a separate thread on how it shoots when I find a load it likes.

Thanks for your help.

Do you think that because of the stalk?

The black webbed accent stalk was used on the SVR also.

Well it looks like it has a blued barrel in the pic, although I can't see it very well. The Accumarks had a stainless fluted. This looks like the Mark V Fibermark from the pic.

It looks like a SVR. SVR's had a 22" #3 Barrel, 6 lug bolt and black w/gray web stock. Weatherby made them in 223 and 22-250. You will like it. I have one in 22-250, it shoots great and not to heavy to carry.

What kind of groups do you get with your 22-250?

When the wind cooperates (hardly ever in the Texas Panhandle) 3/4" to 1" with 55 grain V-max and Varget. Haven't shot any other loads out of it as that load works pretty well.
