weatherby redmist

Hey guys,

I just bought a weatherby vanguard red mist in 223 do any of you out there have this gun? I'd like to here what loads you are using and what type of optics. I was looking at ar15's tell I came across this baby for so cheap. (impulse buy??? YES) I bought the gun new but I can't seem to find any spec's on it other then that it has a #3 barel. what twist is my new toy?

Not sure what a "redmist" is, never heard of that. As far as I know all Weatherby 223's are 1-12 twist

the redmist is a vanguard varmint special, it has a black stock with red spider-webing?? and a #3 bull barrel in 223, weatherby says the #3 is a 22 incher mine is a 20 in. and they dont list this gun on there webpage. however they do list a varmint special with a tan stock and 22" #3.

Im lost, is my gun the same as there new vrmt spl? minus the stock and the 2" barrel dif. is the twist rate the same then?

most importantly how heavey of a bullet will a 1:12 stabilize?

I guess I'm posting for myself but I just measured my barrel and it is 22" long. so I guess it is a 1:12.

Has anyone ever ordered a new synthetic stock from weatherby? I'd like to get the snow camo. do they make them for all there barrel's?

You can order that stock directly from Bell & Carlson as well..
