Look at the Howa 1500 as well, basically the same as Weatherby. Weatherby uses the Howa action.

Vanguard is a good shooting gun for the money, built on a good action(1500). Buy it. You'll like it.......

get a weatherby/howa varmint or an sps varmint. places have scoped combos cheap.

Great cartridge, been my absolute favorite for 33 years. The .25-06 is a dual purpose cartridge. I've used mine for varminting, deer hunting and even bear.

Either of your choices should be good. I've had decent luck with Winchester, Remington and Savage. Never owned a Weatherby but would have no hesitation.

I have the Vanguard in 25-06 and it is a great shooter. It is the most accurate bolt action hunting rifle I have shot. Great cartridge and grear gun. You won't be disapointed getting one.

CDNN had some smokin deals on some Howa's, can't be sure but I think they listed some in 25/06.
