Hi. I want your opinion in this one.. i have never own a 300wsm. Can you guys please give me an advice? thank you.

That's the rifle i wanna buy Weatherby Vanguard Sub-Moa 300wsm.

(I hope i post it in the right place.)

From the 300 WSM's I've chrono'ed I havn't seem a lot of improvement over an 06. I'd suggest if you want 300 magnum performance stick to the 300 Win mag.

My 2 cents

I can only tell you what I know. I own a .300WSM in a Model 70 Coyote and I don't think there is a better all around caliber period, but that's strictly a personal opinion.

Bob, I don't know what bullet you chrono'ed, but I know for a fact that out of the above rifle, the Winchester Supreme Ballistic tips in 150gr bullets at the time (3 years ago) were pushing an avg of just less that 3400fps on two different Chony's. Not sure what the .30-06 in the same bullet does but it only calls for 2900fps and 2800 ftlbs. The ballistics on the .300wsm call for 3300fps and 3600ftlbs... I'd personally say that's a pretty big difference. At 300yds they "SAY" the difference in drop is 4 inches. I don't take ANY stock in quoted ballistics or ballistic calculators.

The .300wsm can be made even better with reloading. Personally I really like the 110gr V-max's with 71.2gr of H414. Average of just over 3600fps. I've heard of folks getting the same bullet to go faster, but mine started breaking up at 3650.

My Brother bought a 300WSM in a Tikka. Being brothers we argue alot, we tried 3 different factory loads, 180's, My experience mirrors IDBobs. As I recall the loads were factory listed at 3250fps (or so) none of them exceeded 3000.
Winchester factory supreme in 180's average 3025 out of my WM300, advertized at 2960, my 300 might not be typical as it wears a Douglas barrel.

I have an A-Bolt 300WSM. I like the gun but only used it on one bear hunt, to many other deer rifles. I loaded mine in the 30-06+ range, nothing excessive.
