Weaver Nitrex Scopes

This is not a good example of the buzz about the Nitrex Scopes at Natchez....but on Rimfire Central website they have over 8600 hits on views and 165 replies on one single thread about Nitrex on page two of their optics forum. Yep, guys there like their rimfires but own centerfire rifles too. I have seen posts in optics sections on other gunsites by Gents who have purchased a Nitrex (mostly TR2s) and all were very impressed with the scope.

ANGCorsair, I now have two of the discontinued Nitrex TR2 scopes, a 3-15X42 SF ($218 final cost) and a 4-20X50SF ($279 final cost) from Natchez Shooters Supplies.

Based on opinions of my fellow shooters at range that own Leupold(various types), Burris Fullfield&Signature, Sightron(? as to type), Zeiss Conquest, (don't think any of my regular shooting buddies use Bushnell), my Nitrex compare well with their scopes for clarity/brightness and other features. Only difference noted by anyone was price I paid for mine a heck of a lot less than their scopes.

I bought a TR2 3.5/15 with the etched glass reticle = price was too good to pass on (Howa-Japanese Glass) pretty [beeep] bright and clear = better than my Buckmaster but not Leupold v3 or even Monarch Nikon but for the money Im really impresed with clarity. Only complaint is that it has a tricky eye relief = seems if my head is not held a certain way - I get black-out/weird to me. If anyone else has this problem I would love to hear about it - Im using a huge sunshade but this is a problem to me.

I own a Nitrex 2 3/15 42mm and am very pleased with the brightness and clarity of the glass at any range. It is definetly clearer than my Buckmaster and the price with rebate was awesome. The only complaint I have is eye position (not relief)if my head is not aligned just right, the scope wants to black out, other than that its a great deal, especially with $100 rebate.Just my personal opinion, hope this helps someone with a decision to buy or not.

This is an old post about Nitrex scopes at Natchez Shooters Supply. All the Nitrex TR2 models were sold some time ago. Natchez does have a few models of the TR1 scopes left to sell, but they are 3-9 or lower power scopes. No rebate on them, but still a good buy on a very decent scope.
