Just picked her up today. Matthews Outback. Boy does she shoot sweet. I may have to take her to the turkey woods this season /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

They sure do shoot sweet dont they. They have almost no hand vibration at all. I think the are hands down the best compound i have ever shot. Plus they look cool.

You just cant do better than a Mathews!!! I got a Switchback this year and love it. About the only dif between the two is length and maybe a few more dampeners. I have a buddy with an Outback and I think I like it better. Congrats on the new toy and I wish you many successfull hunts.

I had a PSE Nove before this one and I thought it was pretty quiet and smooth. There is no comparison. I cant wait to put the smack down on some venison this fall.

pleeeeeease........Mathews are top of the line, great shooting bows but the Hoyt line will give the Mathews a run for the money any day any time. Mathews doesnt win near the evets that Hoyt does either. Nice bow statelinerut. You will enjoy your Outback for many years to come.

Nice bow. I got some old POS pse that is some where around 15 or 20 years old its really heavy. I saw some of those new bows and cant belive how light they have become. Looks like a real Gem.

I shoot an Outback as well. Was thinking about trading it in for the new Switchback XT.My cousin just purchased the XT and the cam is smoother and the valley much more forgiving.Price tag on the Mathews bows are the killer however. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

damn,im still using stick and string,,but due to neck problems i might have to switch to a compound?i never was much for the "wheel" bows but if i switch what are the avg prices for a matthews or a PSE??? ive never shot sights or a release either so i will probably just use my finger tab to shoot with
Thanks
Bob

hoyt hands down and allways will be a hoyt in my hand on opening day. I have shot all of em mathews bowtech all of em and still go back to the hoyt.

I shoot a Browning right now and like it but have been contempating a Matthews or Bow Tech. Momma doesn't like the idea and reminds me that with all of the gizmos, gadgets, and treestands that I have, I killed truck loads of deer with a Bear Whitetail II and a home-made treestand. I hate it when she is right.

Ohiobob. You can expect to pay around $650-$675 for a new Switchback. That is just the bare bow. The PSE on the other hand is far more affordable than the Mathews and start around $350. The thing that made me switch to the Mathews is that the vibration when the arrow leaves the bow is 0. You feel no recoil with the Mathews. The PSE isn't bad, but you still feel the recoil when the arrow leaves. Now does not feeling recoil make a deer any more dead than if you feel recoil? No. I just like the smoothness and the feel of the bow. Having shot a PSE for years, I just now prefer the Mathews better. Now Kodiak is coming out with a bow this year that is supposed to be very smooth, quiet and fast. It is also a parallel limb design like the Mathews Outback and the Switchback. Take a look at the Kodiak while you are at it. In my opinion, from talking to the shop owner I frequent, the MAthews is the best bow hands down on the market today. It is also very accomidating for those hunters wanting a lower poundage bow, but still want the speed to go with it. Thats just my two cents, I wish you luck in your decision.

I have shot pse bows for years and love them to death but after listening to one of the new mathews shoot, almost pure silence when released. And that is with no string siliencers on them. My next bow will be a mathews, my firestorm lite will be my backup.

Step away from the bong /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

HOYT HOYT HOYT HOYT
BOWTECH BOWTECH BOWTECH

Now those are two real bows /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just kiding, all three make really good bows. I truely feel Hoyt has the edge but the main thing is how they feel in YOUR hand.

I switched to a longbow this year and loved it. I actually started making my own bows this winter and I can't wait to try one out on some game. There's just something about taking game with a bow you made yourself that intrigues me. VA just allowed crossbows to be used during archery season, so I boycotted modern gear altogether. I love how during the "primative" seasons you can use scoped crossbows and inline, scoped muzzleloaders.

I have a friend who just recently bought a Mathews and he loves it. I've never heard any negative feedback from someone who owned one.
