What after market full choke tubes do you use?

I have always used the factory full choke tube that came standard with my SBEII and have no complaints but I am wanting to venture out into the after market world. Any suggestions?

Kick's, Indian Creek and Pure Gold are excellent chokes.

Edit: I have tried many different chokes to include some big name varieties with very mixed results. Some aren't any better than the plain jane factory flush mount screw in choke, some are mediocre at best and some are excellent. The three I mentioned have been very consistent performers over the years.

So many choices. Now I have something to help pass the time working night shift for a plant shutdown.

You could do a [beeep] sight worse than to listen to this man when it comes to shotguns. Grab a sandwich and a soda and start reading his sticky thread about choke/load combos, you'll be there a while, but you will be MUCH MUCH better off for it in the end. I have picked GC's brain in many a PM and read everything he writes about shotguns, if he tells you that a horsefly can pull a cart, don't ask how, just hitch it up.

I've used Indian Creek with real good results in the past, however, for the last three or four years I've been using SumToy Custom chokes and they are hard to beat.

Chupa, Yeah I didn't see GC's sticky thread until after I posted my question. Amateur move on my part.

I have been slowly digging into the thread and you are right there is some great information.

No foul. It's the most comprehensive thread on the subject on the interwebs.

For large shot like BB through buckshot my gun (Mberg 835) shoots best with Kicks Gobbling Thunder and Buck Kicker. For birdshot lead or steel the Accumags work as well or better than others I've tried.

I use the Carlson's turkey choke in my shotguns. 16"-20" patterns of #4 buck at 40 yards is standard. Surprisingly, 00 and 000 pattern tighter than #4 loads that I tried.

After reading GC's sticky on the subject and some other threads on PM I have come to the conclusion that no two guns, chokes, or loads produce the same results. With that said I did see Carlson's were having a sale on their Dead Coyote Choke and I pulled the trigger and bought one. When I get the time I will test some different loads and see how they perform. The way I see it is if I am not happy with the results I get then I'm only out $38 on a choke tube.

Congratulations sir, you're ahead of the curve. Everything you said is spot on!

I recenty had my 1100 barrel cut and threaded for chokes along with the forcing cone lengthened and polished. I ordered a Carlson coyote choke and a an extended skeet choke. The coyote choke patterned #4 and #5 turkey loads pretty well from about 45 yards. The #4 buckshot loads were CRAP! I loast half the pellets on a 4'x4' sheet of cardboard. Im gonna try some other #4 buck ammo if i can find it. I tried OO buck low recoil loads in the skeet choke and it threw a 14" spread at the said distance. I was pretty happy with that!
