What ammo to test for 1:8 18" ARP barrel?

I am finally stepping into a mainstream caliber for my AR, and am overwhelmed with the choices available. I sold my 5.45 where the choices were Hornady 60 gr. Vmax or Wolf 55 gr. SP. Now I have all sorts of loadings, and weights, and blah blah.

I am buying in about $100 lots at a time. So far I have DRT 55 gr. HP, Sellier & Bellot 55 gr. SP, and Fiocchi 50 gr. Vmax.

Next month I will be purchasing 5-10 boxes of Federal Fusion MSR 62 gr. SP from PSA if they have any left.

Also on the list are American Eagle AE223G and AE223GTV, PPU 55 gr. SP, PPU 69 and 75 gr. OTM, and some Freedom Munitions 60 gr. V-max and OTM in 69 or 75.

What else should I be looking at?

I am considering 1 load for medium game, the Federal Fusion MSR most likely, and then one for small game.

No, it's still in pieces being built. UTG Pro 15" rail, AIM Surplus NIB BCG, and Kaw Valley Precision Linear comp. When it arrives it will get a Redfield TAC-MOA scope in an Aero Precision lightweight scope mount.

That's ideal for stockpiling, especially at their best sale price.

It would be even better if they had mags and other ammo in stock.

I've been pricing stuff on several websites, and walking into Cabela's seems to make the most sense on several kinds of ammo.

Not much help on the 223 Rem. ARP barrel, but their 6.8 barrels shoot most everything well. I have 95 gr. TTSX, 90 gr. Sierra HP, and 90 gr. Speer TNTs, all going into sub-MOA groups.

I am interested in the responses, as I have a 18" 223 Rem. ARP barrel being delivered probably tomorrow, if Fed Ex, gets their stuff together. I don't shoot factory ammo, but some of the bullet weights are interesting.

Squeeze

The AE223GTV is excellent. I consistently get .5" groups @ 100 yards with my RRA ATH carbine 18" 1 in 8 twist barrel.PSA has it for 5.99 - 7.99 when available

Over the years I've found if it says Hornady or Black Hills on the box it will shoot very well. It's just a matter of what weight bullet it likes the best. All are accurate in a good rifle.

Which ones were you referring to? The GTV is a ballistic tip, and the G is a hollow point.

I'm going to try the PPU/Monarch and Herter's/Sellier & Bellot PSP, and then I will move to the Hornady 55 gr. I have been trying to find some Black Hills 60 gr. V-max, but no one has any for less than $1.XX shipped per round for the amount I want to try out.
