What interesting movies and series are you watching, and which stinkers aren't worth your time?

I'll start with an interesting movie my wife and I watched on Prime last night. The movie is a new release called "Motor City." The male leads are Alan Ritchson and Ben Foster. Be warned, there is no dialogue in the entire film. Yeah, maybe a total of six or seven spoken words in the entire movie. Definitely different.

A few series we have been watching are Reacher, Lioness, and Ted Lasso.

We watch Lioness, Reacher(really not the best acting). Most of Taylor Sheridan stuff, liked "The Madison". We like action movies but not exclusively we just started watching the early version of "A woman of substance". We watch a lot of mysteries from the UK. I really like watching foreign mystery series Danish, Finnish, Swedish, German, French. I love the sound of the Danish languish. I don't speak any of these but sub titles are easy for me, in fact if the show is dubbed int English I usually switch it to the native tongue and follow with subtitles, it makes more sense when the emotions in the voice match the character.

Italian tv is over the top, just can't get into it. Most asian shows I don't find interesting but have come across a few I like.

I think I like foreign tv so much as I like to see how the rest of the world thinks, I just watched a mysterie from Greenland and the US were the bad guys.

We follow "Itchy Boots" on YouTube, we get to see places we'd never see from a prospective of a person that has no bias and she is a geologist so you learn a lot about the counties she travels through., She travels solo on a motorcycle, no film crew, a lot of her travel are on dirt road which she prefers over pavement. When she traveled through Afghanistan then taliban scared the crap out of her but the people were nice to her. When she traveled through the Seneloa cartel county she posted that she would just travel through and not film, they only stopped her once and treated her ok. She was travelling from Patagonia to Prudhoe Bay by motorcycle. Right now she is traveling from europe to japan traveling through a lot of the Middle East, Mongolia, China and on to japan

Lioness is great fun.

Too much embedded femisim & girl boss stuff but the action is great & it's still a lot of fun. Another Sheridan Taylor show

We like Reacher but Alan Ritchson is trying hard to kill his career

I like Alan as an actor. I think his role as Reacher is a lot of fun. He was good in The War Machine & there was another movie, can't recall that name that was pretty good

But he has a raging case of TDS & has been active on social media attacking Trump, anyone who might have voted for Trump, etc. On top of that he's been attacking Catholics & possibly other Christians

I have always held that anyone can hold any political opinions they want. But when you earn your living by depending on the public to pay to see you, you just might want to keep that shit to yourself. And if you don't, you still probably should keep a tight reign on just how far you go with it. When you attack & piss off the very people who are paying your very high income, it's quite likely to turn them off to the point where they won't bother watching anything you're in. They won't stream your show, they won't go to a theater & pay theater prices to see anything. If you do live performances such as concerts, they aren't going to spend the now very large $$$ it takes to buy tickets to go see you

Some examples for me personally:

Deniro, Springstein & Roger Waters

I've liked a lot of what all 3 have done in the past but I can't see me spending a damned dime on them now. Simply bc they've become too obnoxious

Other examples:

Dixie Chicks
Jelly Roll just commited hari kiri
Tes Nugent has often admitted how much his advocacy has cost him over the years. I generally agree with him but the last time I saw him back in the 90s, in the middle of the show he went on a political rant & I was cringing. I have no doubt that a lot of potential show goers back then did not & I get it. I agreed with a lot of what he was off on but just didn't want it in his show

We're watching Reacher now, season 4 is on. But I won't pay for a movie ticket or anything extra to stream one

I've read that Paramount has chewed him out & pointed out that his contract specifically bans him discussing politics on social media. Season 5 was already green lit but allegedly there's no interest beyond that. Pramount is now owned by another company who is calling the shots & possibly a lot of what they tolerated in the past may be coming to an end, given the financial impact over the last 10+ years
