guys i need a new light to attach to my hat at night or even a light that is on a head band. hunting , fishing use. what do you guys recommend for the best bang for the buck . looking for something under 80.00. thanks. marty

If you want something for walking/working/fishing...this is what I use on my hard hat at work. I like it. I have another with a soft band for using around the house. http://www.princetontec.com/eos

It is NOT for spotting game.
Edit to add: I have bought SEVERAL different headlamps for using at work. I have been happiest with this one. And have 3 of them.

I also have a couple of these and like them too. They are a little less expensive. According to Streamlight they are now discontinued. But it seems there are still a few available.

I prefer the Princeton Tec as they turn off with one click after they have been on a few seconds. You don't have to "cycle" through all the modes to turn off.

Edit to add; This ain't for spotting game either.

A while back I went on a headlight search of my own, ended up buying 5, or so...

I found I like this one the best, for my use, which is used for running at night. There are a lot of rabbits where me and the dog go in the middle of the night, I was looking for a light that could help me keep track of the dog after he spotted a rabbit and took off after them. It's very bright, has adjustable beam, and comfortable to wear.

Cheap too.

I tend to be continually impressed by these eBay lights, I probably own over 10 different styles (handheld and head lamp) all with Cree illumination, and have only been dissapointed a couple times. There are flashlights every place I could think needed one!

thanks for all the help. found a nice clip on made by noxx co i think. 10.00 fleet farm. i might be buying the boondocks 59.00 soon. looks like a nice light for even mounting on a shotgun. marty

I have same type the 18650 batts last a long time, I use them in all my lights, as well as IR illuminator.
