What case trimmer to get?

RCBS, so you can get yourself a 3 way caliber specific trimmer. Trims to length, inside chamfer, outside chamfer all in one crank of the trimmer handle..
 


I have had an RCBS for 40+ years. They do a nice job.

I use a Lee, now. I do not use mixed brass.

I trim my brass - 0.010 and the Lee works just fine.
 
I have a Hornady trimmer, but I would reccomend an RCBS instead. With the Hornady, only their brand of shell holders work in the trimmer. Its a pain having to order shell holders all the time.
 
I have a Sinclair/Wilson case trimmer, which I really like, but then again I have no experience with any other trimmer. I got that one after reading several people praise them here on PM. It works very well, and is pretty easy to use. You do have to buy specific caliber case holders at about $11 each. Just make sure you treat it like a fine firearm and wipe it down with Break Free or something after using it. I left mine sit for a couple of days after using it when I first got it, and when I returned to the bench it had quite a bit of fine rust on it.
 
If you're doing small amounts of brass for hunting, get the little Lee trimmer. It's cheap, simple to use, and dead accurate every time.
The Forster works great for larger amounts of brass.

If you do a lot of reloading in several different calibers, this is definately a good way to go.

I have a Lee it seems to work pretty easy. I haven't tried any others. Fits all sorts of different calibers with just a quick change of the little guides they give you. Pain in the rear when it comes to getting your length set though. I don't know if that is just the way it is with every trimmer or just the Lee though.

+3 I have 3 of the 3 way cutters and love them. They sure make a boring job go faster.

plus one on the RCBS, I had a lyman and sold it and ordered a RCBS last week. My father in law bought an RCBS a couple of years ago and we got a three way trimmer for it for 223 brass and it is a dream. I finally got tired of loading up my brass to take it over to his house to trim it, so now I will have my own.

And I like the shell holder in it

I have the Sinclair ultimate that I like a lot. It's very accurate. Your not going to win a brass trimming race with it but I only do 100-200 at a time so it is not so bad.

Absolutely....since I bought my Giraud I can chug through trimming .223 brass in no time...prior to buying the Giraud I bought a RCBS manual lathe trimmer...then the drill adapter....then the RCBS power trim pro trimmer because I thought the Giraud was too expensive. In hindsight I should have started with the Giraud and saved a lot of money as well as aggravation.

I still have the RCBS trimmers in case I need to trim a few pieces of brass here or there in different calibers that I don't load volume in. The RCBS trimmers take forever to trim even just 1k pieces of brass at a time let alone if you trim in bulk.

That is the daddy of all trimmers but use less you have 1000's of brass most can't see paying that price. Needless to say once my. 223 brass gets close to the 5 gal bucket full I will be ordering mine.
