ive always had a problem since day one with my rcbs trim mate center leaving a funny edge when using the outside deburr head. i hafto hold the brass at a steep angle in the cutter while rotating it around to do a decent job. never been too happy with it. the inside seems to work just fine. im wondering what other tools work better and which other brands heads fit the rcbs center and rotate the correct way for them?

im interested in the hornady power center if its any good? id like it for the power case trimmer as well. as long as the cutters work well and the horzontal attachments works okay compared to the vertical rcbs like im used to? is this a good unit?

id also like to get the lyman hand tool set in the black case to use for quick jobs. are those of good quality and would work in the rcbs center?

My RCBS prep station has worked well for me. I did switch the inside de-burring tool to a Vld type cutter, and am happy so far. I dont know much about the Hornady that you are looking at, but check to see that it accepts other shell holders. My Hornady trimmer requires the use of only "Hornady" shell holders. much to my chagrin. Now I need another shell holder for the 44 mag. This would be a deciding factor for me if a shell holder is required. Good luck.

RCBS ain't failed me yet!

Has worked great for me requiring very little down pressure to take the rough edge off.

Good luck!

Trim mate. I just picked one up for a steal at 65 bucks. The best tool I have purchased for reloading. Worth the sticker price if you ask me.

Have you looked into the Hornady LNL Case Prep Assistant? Quite a bit cheaper than the Power Center. Lyman came out with a new case prep center, also. Lots to choose from!

i ended up ordering the sinclair carbide vld cutter and the sinclair drill adapter that holds the wilson inside/ outside deburr tool. also went with the sinclair set of primer pocket uniformers and drill adapter too. im gonna give a try doing all my case prep using a small, lightweight dewalt lithium ion 12v drill. i kinda decided id like to try the portability and maneuverability of a drill instead of being stuck in one place by the noisy, wobbly case prep center lol. ill see how it goes, and anyone else prefer using a drill for their case prep?

I'm outside the mainstream on this thread. I like to use a Lyman 50 BMG hand deburring tool because it is larger than a standard deburring tool and my hands don't cramp during long brass prep sessions. Still as sharp today as the day I bought it several years ago.
