What do you think about Night Owl Cyclops Compact Night Vision Monocular

Hey guys I know there is a ton of knoledge in this site so I am seeking advice. At my local Wal-mart there is a (Night Owl Cyclops Compact Night Vision Monocular) Here are some Specs.

Magnification: 42 mm objective lens; 3.1x image magnification

Key Features: 15,000x light amplification for best night viewing

Feature : Dimensions: 7.2"L x 2.4"W x 3.2"H;Weighs 1 pound

Focusing range of 8 feet
Field of view at 1,000 yards: 628 feet

It is about 150$ Is this a deal or not? This will be my first night vision device so... im ignorent in this field.
Thanks for your advice it is greatly needed.
 
Although I've never tried the unit you're talking about, my dad had something similar. It was very much a waste of money, in fact you can see nearly as well with just your eyes. I would see if you could try it before you buy it.
 
totally agree with falfan. better off buying a surefie flashlight. I just started a thread about night vision. Just a start, but seems to be a lot of questions.
