what field shotgun?

I've had extremely good luck with the nova. had the 935 and bps (both 3.5" as the nova) the nova had quite a bit less felt recoil with the big loads. never failed. Fixin; to trade in my pistol grip stoeger (new 3.5") for another nove. probably the super nova. just my 2 cents worth.. good luck.

ok thanks! yes i have heard good things on the supernova/nova also.

so as far as semi's,: the franchi i-12, wincester sx3, vrowning maxus, and benelli m2 filed is what i really like.

pumps: benelli supernova/nova, remington 870, mossberg, and browning bps

i think i have decided on a semi! iafter ALOT of research, i really like the franchi i-12!i have yet to handle it, but i think im sold on it!

if i have to get a pump, it waill be a benelli supernova

again thanks so much for yall's help!
GOD BLESS

Never shot the Frachi, but I have the Benelli M1, and have put thousands of rounds thru it. Hunting everything from coyotes, ducks, geese, deer, snow geese etc. It is my go to gun. I have had one malfunction in all of the time owned and that was when the sling flipped over the bolt rising up to shoot geese from a ground blind...not the guns fault...all user error. Highly suggest the Benelli line, but they don't give them away either. FYI have not shot the M2 but I would suspect they perform as well as the previous model, the M1 which I own.

The only thing I will caution you on the Benelli super nova is, they pack a punch. I shot a 3 1/2 turkey loads thru it and it felt like the T-rex videos from youtube. Not sure the nova is the best bang for your buck as far as pumps go, but to each their own.

i've got 1 stoeger 2000, beneli's bottom line, doesn't shoot like my browning , but i belive it function every bit like a beneli auto, well priced, and something i'm not scared 2 beat up.

I just picked up an I-12 from cabelas for $500 plus tax. They are on sale for $599 (which is $100 off) and I had a coupon for another $100 off. Can't wait to get it patterned and try out on some predators. Hopefully this weekend.

SX3, browning gold or maxxus(all FNH) are kinda like the best of both worlds. Gas unlocks the bolt then inertia takes over and drives it back. 3 1/2" shells in my SX3 feel lighter on my shoulder than heavy 2 3/4" loads in my M1. It's more like a shove than a kick. Your on the right track, keep working and saving and get exactly what YOU want. RR

I agree with roadrunner, don't buy something in place of what you want. You will only spend money and have buyers remorse and end up buying what you had in mind later. Then you have the cost of 2 guns and one always sits in the gun cabinet. Don't get me wrong, a guy can't have to many guns.

thanks everyone!

ive got a problem, my Dad wont let me spend 1000 bucks on a gun, i thaught maybe i could squeak by with it, but no go

so its down to franchi i-12, the beretta 3901/390/391, and benelli supernova.

i really like the beretta but hows the reliablity on it? easy to clean? how well does it cycle light loads or the 3"? any reasons specialically why to get it or why not to get it? how much difference in it and the 391 or 390?
would i be better off getting the supernova with its realiability, or is the beretta a really good gun?
sorry for all the questions, but i want to know all i can know before i buy!
GOD BLESS

I would go with the Beretta. I run a trap range and that is the gun I give anyone who is starting out and don't have a gun to use. At least half of them will end up buying one. They are light on the shoulder and can take gobs of abuse. We shoot reloads our club gun and it will cycle 7/8 ounce loads as well as 1 1/2 ounce loads. good luck shopping. keep an eye on gunbroker and auction arms.

If you want one that really wont quit its gotta be a rem 870. i got one in a synthetic camo that they only made 500 of. be out hunting geese in rain sleet and snow. best pump gun for the money.

I'd say get which ever fits you better between the Benelli Super Black Eagle and the Beretta Extrema. Both extremely good guns that will last a long time.

i would really think about the 870 workhorse. i got one and i love it! matter of fact, this morning i had it out, stuffed with #4 buck for coyote and an x full choke. by midday i put a modified in and put some #7 in and decoyed/called in crow. had a great time knocking crows out of the air!! the 870 is a no-nonsense hunter!!
