I'm looking for a new grip for my AR and wanting to hear what everyone here likes to use on your hunting rig. I like the look of the DPMS Panther but I wonder how it would feel out in the field. Anyone have this one?
I use a Hogue "finger style" grip. I have in the past used the "bench" grip (and I think that is what the Panther grip is) with the bottom hand support. I didn't like it for field use. It got in the way too often for my tastes. You might be fine with it, however.
ANYTHING is better than the old-style straight military grip that are on some ARs.
Hogue for me too. After trying one on a friend's AR, I yanked the stock one off my gun and replaced it with the identical Hogue that he had. Feels SO much better than the hard plastic factory one. Get one- you will like it.
My RRA came with a Hogue finger groove style but it was too small for my hand. I liked the grippy feel of the Hogue but ended up with a CAA G-27 Tactical. I may try something else yet like the Magpul MIAD
CAA UPG16 modular grip is what I have on mine.. It comes with 6 interchangable pieces, 3 for the front and 3 for the back.. It makes a great feeling grip whether you're shooting off the bench or blasting coyotes off shooting sticks..
My 2nd choice would be Hogue.. It's also a great grip..
Soft Ergo without deep finger groves.....my hand never fits any deep finger grove guns or grips....I have big paws.
Anyway I like the SUREGRIP version of the standard Ergo.
