What happened to Nikon Buckmaster?

I remember just a couple of years ago that Nikon Buckmasters were selling for more than the Pro Staff line, and were considered to be a better scope.
Now Buckmasters are less expensive. Is Nikon dropping the Buckmaster line, or have they cut the Buckmaster quality and improved the Pro Staff line?

Im glad I bought 6 of the old buck masters before they stopped, dang good scopes!
Yea being replaced by the PS 5s. The PS 5 I just got is a twin of the same old BM.

The "Active Target" line is the last of the old Buckmasters.

Even by the end, there were two grades of Buckmasters - there were the Side Focus models, then the lower end BDC models, with not much difference in price, but a huge difference in quality. I have multiple of each version, the side focus models are fantastic, the fixed parallax models are just scopes...

I bought one just this past Feb. from the bargain cave at cabelas. It is a 4.5-14 that I put on my 22-250 with the side focus. Actually I never knew there was two differnet focuses. The scope was only like $230 or $250. Sounds like I got lucky on getting a good old scope that isnt made anynmore.

Are you referring to the new Buckmaster 2 line that's selling for 140 bucks or so? If so I think they just rebranded the original prostaff line.
