what happened to the old baord?

I have high speed and cant get threads to open in the day time,,,, late at night no troubles. but mid day forget about it . the sight opened fine, and i can get into the different areas like calling in the east and members area but trying to get a thread to open is tuff , it loads and loads and loads and loads ..and never opens...

i have much the same trouble on fin and fur.. and only get on the sight in the slow times of the day....

and no it not me or my set up!!! every other sight works well..

on this new setup you guys have running i still have almost the same look as the old one brown and tan

ps i loged on this sight 4 times today and couldnt get any threads open

One other thing that got me thinking ,

how is it that every Privet Message since 06 that i have sent and DELETED is back.. if i deleted them how did you find them again??????????????

the other day i had like 3 PM'S in my box today i have 6 pages of them


And where did all the PM' that were sent to me that have been saving go????????????

There are a few out there and available.....and you can create your own new look, but that takes a little time.

I don't like the PM board

I keep getting "required fields not completed please use back on your browser message" and can't seem to get it sent

Log out and log back in and the message appears to be sent

So who knows

definitely a little quirky
 
I see great potential with this new board set-up. Some things are far easier to access. For years I made comments to the administration about the amount of wasted space at the top of the forum page. That seems to be a thing of the past, I'm glad to see it.

Now for a few minor complaints:

Yesterday the text in the forum messages was set up as center justified, today it's left justified, a good step forward.

I hate the color schemes. Stu is right, we need more variety there.

As it was said before, It was nice to see the post origionator AND the last post, origionator. That was a nice feature.

Edit: I just got done editing my PM inbox. That is a pain in the butt. It does surprise me to find that ALL the messages I've EVER received are still around someplace in a data base. Something to think about..... There are folks that question the security of sending messages through the PM system. This might give them additional ammunition for their worries.

Edit #2: I just noticed that the little happy face that indicates whether a poster is ONLINE or not doesn't seem to work on my machine.. Never mind, I just figured out that it's a setting in the Preferences sheet.

I must say this new girly color has calmed the savage beast in me, well sort of LOL!
 
This is my first time time post a comment since the board changed so I hope Im doin everything right.It will take me a while to get used to the new look and everything but I'll eventually get used to it.Is it just me or is there alot more buttons and stuff to push.The more buttons I have to push the more likely I am to mess somethin up.And that aint never good.

This is just a practice type deal so I can use some of the new smiley faces so nobody freak out or nothin.

the post originator is under the title and the last poster is over to the right along with the time of post.

For me the color is the same, didn't know you could change it.

The color hasn't changed much for me. Still desert sand.

all private messages were imported from the old board. You will have to go through and delete the ones you no longer want. Some may have not made the move while others did.

We've had questions about the security of private messages.
That pm feature is on this board as a convenience. Our policy is to respect the privacy to those messages, but you must realize they are not meant as a secure method of communication. If you post anything on the internet, there is someone out there who can read it.
If it is of a sensitive nature, use some other means of communication.

There are some interesting changes and it will take some time to find and use them.

Everyone should check their mailbox and delete what you don't want. I expect most are full and you won't be able to receive more till you clean up.
 
I have 33 pages of PM's, going back to march of 2005. As admin, there's no limit on mine. Bummer.

Apparently no distinction was made between the inbox, the saved box, deleted, etc.

I'm really not pleased with the way that part of the move was handled either, so don't feel alone. I'm also working on getting the PM box size increased for everyone so if you're dealing a full box you'll be able to rx new ones while dealing with this mess.
