What is a Remington EtronX? Good or Bad?

seriously, I think the rifle would need so many "new" parts to make it a standard gun that you may as well just get a new one.

I don't even think you can retro fit any parts because the internals on it are TOTALLY different.

that is all I remember from my inspection of one years and years ago...

The Etronix was introduced by Remington in 1999. You must be very young for that to be "years and years ago"...

The original idea was to eliminate lock time. But the solution cast more than the problem is worth. The rifles have been discontinued. Primers trickle onto the market very slowly and in eight or ten years there will not be any made period. The etronix is like buying a wildcat when you don't handload. but worse since you cannot make electronic primers. I don't think any how.You might look into a conversion with standard bolt and trigger see if the cost of converting it to use standard ammo is worth it. I bet it is not and your better off going with a standard rife even at twice the cost of that one. A rifle you can't get ammo for is just a club /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
