What is an F class rifle

The x ring is 1/2 moa, so ideally you have a weapon and load capable of grouping inside of that, of course the rest is up to you.
F/tr is more regulated in what you can use. F open is more "open," in what you can use. This includes caliber restrictions.

As far as what an fclass rifle is, it is whatever you want it to be, inside the rules of course. Mine is my coyote rig, I use fclass as a way to become more proficient with my gun, as well as a way to enhance my skills as a marksman, just for hunting purposes.

I use a Harris bipod up front, and my hand as a back rest, my weapon is stock, with a skim bedding job being the only smithing done to it. So, I am very basic, I run an 8-32x56 power scope, high magnification is a good thing to have when aiming at such a small center ring. Nightforces 12-42power benchrest scope is popular, though mirage puts a damper on that high power at times.

But, I see a huge variety, from your grandpa's old 700 with his 3-9 power scope, to what appears to be a weapon best suited for the top of a tank, with a front rest needing a masters in engineering to figure out.

The two classes give fclass a "run what you brung," kind of feel, and so you do see that great variety in what people use, but, you don't see the arrogance that could come with using a $3,000 scope, $8,000 complete rifle...

I recently heard about this, and it sounds interesting! It kind of sounds like a more competitive version of the Egg Shoot we do at the Predator Masters Annual hunt.

I might have to see about my local gun club doing something like this!

Yep. Some are more BR type looking, and some are more tactical looking.

I have 2 rifles I consider F-class rifles. They are both kinda tactical looking I guess, because of the A5s/Mark 4/NF NXS.....

And I guess this 7mm Mag via A3 would qualify also:

This one maybe also, but not sure if I'll ever run it. 243 in A3:

That used to look like this:

This is my factory class egg shoot rifle:

It now wears the T36 in the pic, not the Leupy:

Bipods everywhere...and the only sling a carry strap.
Tell me, do any brave souls in F class ever shoot with just a loop sling and no bipods, just for the challenge of it? Never shot F class, but I'm an old ex-highpower guy.

i run my .17hmr in f class ........... lol just kidding .. 2mg i want urrifles .. every time i see some of them i cant help but stare at them rifles

Thanks. I appreciate it. I am also someone who appreciates what I have.

I too, just like you, stare at others rifles and wish they were mine.

Rifles are just rifles though. There are a lot of non-material things in life I value much more. If a friend wanted to borrow one of my $4-5K rifles, I would not hesitate to let them use it. It's just a rifle.........
