what is it ?

Puma, cougar, mountain lion, felis concolor etc.

When you are in your photobucket album and are looking at your thumbnails, put your cursor on the bottom line where the 4 picture codes are displayed and left click it. It will say 'copied'. Then when you are in the 'Post' box for a new topic press Ctrl and v at the same time. The code will show up in the message and when you submit it it will show the picture.

That photo does have to be resized before you can post it here.

I'm going with cougar myself.

Kinda hard to get a wrong answer here, as it would have to be taken before the whole story is known.

I base my judgement on the overall appearance & muscular build.

That DARN BUSH is in the way of the whole tail....or tale. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Don't look like bobcat ears to me either. I vote cougar.
Compare some pics of the two, it just has a lion shape to it.

(unless that's a real small log, then it could be a puddy)

I really don't know my cats but my first impression was it was a young cougar. Then I saw dark tufts on the ears and thought it looked like some african cat. It does look quite muscular and short haired but like I said I don't know cats.

That is a bobcat... look at the length of the snout. Now look at the ears compared to the size of the head... way to small for a young cougar. Young cougars tend to have larger ears in comparison to the size of their skull.

If you say "It has no spots..." I have killed a good many bobcats here in the East that show no spots at all on top. They are very tawny in many parts. That is a very nice sized bobcat... very nice! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif Bobcat in my opinion... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Lack of spots and the ear markings I can see tell me it's either an adult Canada Lynx or a young cougar. Canada Lynx are larger than a bobcat and aren't spotted. I'd have to see it in better light or see it's tail to tell for sure. Leaning towards young cougar, tho. Lynx Canadensis rather than Lynx Rufus (bobcat). I don't see tufts on the ears, tho. Canada Lynx have big tufts. I've seen a lot of Canada Lynx in Alaska and the Yukon.
