What new dies for my 22-250?

go with redding and don't look back

Both Redding and Forster are excellent dies.

I have also had great results with 1980s editions of Lee and RCBS, but have not purchased any new ones from them since then.

I'd use a standard sizer die (just buy the RCBS or Redding set - the price is about the same whether you buy the sizer or the set) and add a competition seater. I would avoid the bushing style seater because that is just another variable to throw into the equation. A standard competition seater will allow you to experiment with and/or use multiple bullet combinations and still be able to duplicate the seating depth (as long as you record the seater setting) of your favorite load. I've used both the RCBS and Redding competition seaters with fine results so take your pick. To tell the truth, I also have one Forster comp. seater and that works just as well as the others so pick what color you like and don't look back.

ive replaced all my die sets with the redding deluxe die sets. they come with the fl sizer, neck sizer, and seater all in the same case. reddings are my favourite for quality, fit and finish, easy setup with finger adjusting lockrings. those deluxe sets are all i will ever buy now. and i dont see the need for ever needing special neck bushing dies or competition dies for the shooting i do.

I like the Redding dies these days.. The bullet seater seems to line the bullet up better than RCBS.. Forster is OK, I have a few of them, but Redding is what I use mostly these days.. If ya want a real treat buy the competition seating die with the integral micrometer..

Well I just ordered the Forster Benchrest die with ultra micrometer bullet seater. I hope these baby's work good. I decided to go out on a limb and try the forsters because I have never used them. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Your new seater will work just fine. Now, you just need to keep good notes of your loads and seating depth/die setting to get the most out of it. Don't expect any magic results just because you bought a fancy new die though. You will still have to put your time in and find/develop the best load for your rifle. What your comp. (benchrest) seater will allow you to do is to more easily fine tune and then duplicate your best performing loads.
Good luck.

Now get yourself a comparator so you can measure your seating depths and OAL from the ogive of the bullet instead of the tip.

The comparator is more very important if you ask me. If you arent measuring the COAL from the ogive of the bullet then it will never be truely consistent and accurate.
