What profession do you claim?

I’m glad to see other Rangers on this board since I'm a former Army Ranger myself, 2nd Bat.
(…back when it was hard).

Now days I’m mostly a desk monkey. I spend 70% of my time working from home supporting equipment used in semiconductor and metrology analysis. The remaining 30% of my time is spent traveling to wafer and chip manufacturing facilities to make sure they understand and use our tools for their surface contamination analysis...

Basically our tool makes sure other tools in a fab are clean and not leaving trace elements (atoms per/cm2) that could ruin or degrade chips during their manufacturing process.

Auditor for an inventory company. Sounds better than it is, I basicly go to stores and count things to determine quantity and value, then enter that information into a computer that I carry around.

Directional/Horizontal Driller. I handle the engineering and practical aspects of drilling crooked oilwells on purpose.
Dogleg

Hey Dogleg, that's the only thing that comes to my mind when I see your name, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif but I never would have thought that was the intent.

I turned down that big money job opportunity. Too much time away from home.

I'm a tool pusher on a directional rig. Good ol glorified babysitting. With three young kids though, I do like the 7 in a row off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Brad

Brad H,
I wondered if anyone would ever pick up on that name. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I had a hunch that if it ever happened it would be you,as I had read your profile for one reason or other. You sure got it right about the time away from home, the patch is hard on families. Keep pounding those yotes!
Dogleg

Dogleg, I did the same as Brad on your board name. I worked with brad some in the patch. I was a relief operator on a work over, now I'm in the patch 24/7. My wife and I ranch in the middle of it! My brother is directional driller for multi-shot.

Retired state trooper, 25 years.....18 if it as firearms instructor, (rifle/pistol/shotgun/subgun)....and Special Response Team Long Gun Specialist, (sniper).
All mixed together with a reloading business, hay baling business, raising 3 Kids (all in college now), along with mules and horses, hunting/fishing, and class A IPSC shooter in the old days when class A meant something.
3 neck surgeries later, 6 fused vertebrae and some titanium plates/screws.....now most all the above is gone, but hunting/fishing....Daddy, personal reloading, and being the best husband I can be to the most beautiful girl God ever created...looking at least to match the 31 years together we already have /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hmmmm, when you look at it on paper, seems kind of interesting /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
