I know you don't have one but the 50 Beowulf is a terrific hog round. I don't think you need a large caliber, especially if you are doing head/neck shots which are the norm from what I have read. The .243 with TSX's will take down any hog you will probably come across.
ok, I picked up some Barnes X bullets at Gander Mountain today... Took some digging but I found them and then when they rang up, they were $19 / box!!! They are just the X version, not the TSX's.
The .243 and the 85 TSX did a number on hogs last week. Most of the ones I shot were DRT. I put one big boar down that tipped the scales at #225 that ran about 60 yards. I was more than impressed with the preformance.
Be sure and play around with the seating depth to get the best accuracy out of those Barnes bullets. You will be amazed at the differnce it makes.
