lol. sounds like tbr knows about as much as obama.

For raccoons. Edited previous post. Raccoons have very tough hides. I wouldn't expect small shot to penetrate well at distance, instead you're relying on pellets striking the head. You ought use larger shot to penetrate the hides if that's your goal.

What size do you shoot?

Mostly 3" 4 buck.Otherwise BB loads.Fed's copper plated.I only wish I'd bought up a bunch of Win's 3" buffered BB loads back when BPS had it on sale. They had it listed as 3.5".Having read horror stories on recoil I only bought one box to try.I got better patterns with it than Feds at a fraction of the cost.Rem's 2 3/4' BB HD was great to but like the Win load discontinued.

For coyotes I load BBB. I used load data for 1 1/8oz loads with Federal GM 2 3/4 hulls and Longshot powder - 1585 fps. The 1 1/8oz load holds 51 BBB pellets. I also roll the wads in mica for and extra 10 to 15 fps.

The way they (coyotes) have been responding for us lately,I'm loading a 3" #1 shot in the chamber, for the wide dense pattern at 25 yards, 1 3" 4 buck behind it, followed by 2 3" 00 buck which has a great 18"pattern at 40 out of my shotgun, followed by a 2³/⁴ 4 buck because my tube won't hold another 3" shell.

Picked up some cheap #4 turkey loads for $.37 each at walmart after turkey season ended. Hopefully they will put a coon down at less than 30 yards. Looking at Hornady Heavy Coyote BB for bigger things.
