I have a Rem 700 LVSF and want to replace the factory stock. What are guys putting on their 700 LVSF? I see Bell and Carlson might have something that might fit. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tom

I use the gun for coyote hunting. I just don't like the factory stock and wanted to know my options for replacing it. Tom

LOTS of options. If you want lightweight, McMillan Edge.

The Sako Hunter style is a favorite of mine. So is the A3.

Otherwise, pick a B&C that you like.......

I have had 2 Ti stocks, and 3 LVSF.

The forearm on the Ti's are too small in my hand, methinks.

The forearm on the LVSFs have too much of an "edge" on them for offhand shooting, IMO.

What I was gonna do, several times, but never did, was round off the bottom edge of an LVSF and repaint it. Not much, but just enough.

I think then I would have a stock that I prefer over either of the above said offerings......

Ken,

Everyone's hands prefer different things. Myself, I love the thin forearms on the TI's and McM Mnt rifle stocks, and Kimber Montana's. If you opened my safe you'll see McM Mnt rifle stocks, Kimber Montana and a spare Ti for a future build.

I agree with the "LVSF" have too much of an edge on them. Infact, I hate the stocks on them. Before I built my .17rem, I was looking hard at a LVSF, but when I picked it up and handled it didn't sit well with me.

The LVSF would be a nice stock if it had a more rounded forearm. I think they designed them for a bipod. They plain suck for shooting of sticks.

So where did you end up with this? I am at that point now, I am leaning towards a Mcmillian Hunters Edge, but wondered what you ended up with.

I love the little 17 rem in LVSF, so I think I am going to put the better stock on it and work on the trigeer. Then duracoat the whole thing. I just need to get around and feel some of these stocks. Thanks for the input.

I have 3 LVSF at this time. I have converted 2 of them to BDL and one still is an ADL. I put H&S precision on all 3 never regretted doing that.

The pro-sporter? Got any pics? What parts kit did you use to convert to bdl?

Almost 2 years later, here is where I ended up. 700 LVSF in 17 Remington B&C ti stock, bedded. Leupold scope and my buddy did a custom Duracoat finish on it. Love the stock great upgrade added BDL bottom metal that I bought from someone on here. The bolt is gonna get sent of to be spiral flutted.
