Sent a batch of hides off to get another blanket made. This one is my daughter's Christmas present. If anyone is interested in using some hides and getting one made, you won't be disappointed. The guy who makes them is named Garrett Volk out of North Dakota. (701) 833-7373. This guy can make you just about anything. Any questions, hit me up.

Does he do the tanning too or are you sending him tanned hides?

I send him the tanned hides. Blanket dimensions are 3 1/2 feet by 5 1/2 feet. $560 plus shipping. My wife has had the one in the photo for about four years and she uses it all winter. It has held up great. However he also does his own furs and will use them for a price that includes the coyote hides.

i wouldn't want an ugly pa coyote hide blanket lol

maybe a grey fox or red fox one though !
Not sure exactly how “ugly” PA coyotes are, but I kind of understand what your saying. I was recently at an event here in NY where a vendor had tanned coyote pelts hanging for sale as decorative hangers. Well, he had quite a variety of color phases, but what really stood out was the light colored western pelts. They were insanely beautiful and so soft in comparison to the eastern hides hanging next to them. My friend and I were talking coyote shop about them when my buddy's girlfriend asked me what the big deal was. I told her to just pet each one and she would see for herself. She tried talking my buddy into buying her a western hanging pelt for the next 2 hours! Lol… At $200, he told her to buy it herself!

ive skinned atleast 50 pa coyotes over the years that have been tanned professionally. Still ugly, still wirery, no thanks.

I dont see the "beauty" in yote pelts to be honest though. To me they are ugly stinky dogs lol. Do I wanna see the old lady laying on the bed on dog furs or silk sheets.... pretty easy for me to make that call

Born and raised in Northwest PA. Killed a lot of coyotes there. Until you have seen the hides on these ones in MT, ND, SD and Idaho during the winter months, you are just going to have to take my word. These furs are really nice. Anyway, enough said.
