What you hunting with this year?

Hunting with an 18" carbon fiber 6.5 PRC this year. took it last year too, but swapped scopes and stocks this time around.
Last year it was in a lighter weight chassis but it was -12° and aluminum which don't mix well.
This year it was 61° so it wouldn't have been a big deal, but I like the way the stock feels more.
Worked up loads with 130 TGK and settled on load 4. Repeated sub .3 moa three consecutive times.

I've killed deer with just about everything legal in Oklahoma except with a recurve bow. Going to finish out the season with a Bear Super Kodiak. I'd like to at least get a doe but I'm not going to be to picky. At 74 I think this will be a great way to finish my season, if the deer just cooperate a little. If I can get one in close I think I can get the job done.

Haven't bought a deer tag here in Oregon for to many years. I live in Central Oregon and game animals and game birds have all but gone away till this year. Been seeing some finally, shoot even seen a few elk! Gonna get a deer tag next year and had a rifle re-barreled to hunt deer with. 700 ADL was a 243 but now it's a 260 Rem with a Lilja barrel. Have a 129gr Hornady load worked up I'm gonna use. I'm pretty a 6.5 freak these days. Have a 6.5x06 on a 700 BDL with Shilen barrel that shoot's pretty well, right around 3/4" at 100 yds. With 140gr Sierra MK's it's stay just under 1/2". Also have the first Win rifle I ever hunted with. Mod 70 Feather weight in 6.5x55. Went hog hunting last year for the first time and got a nice one for the freezer. Got this rifle about 2004 hoping my grand daughter would become a hunter. She doe's like going out and shooting my son's AR but I think it's just to see how fast she can pull the trigger! She has no desire to hunt. I carried that 260 out deer hunting for a day on a friends ranch but didn't get a shot so maybe this year.

I carry a lightweight Model 7 Remington in 308 when I go on my annual hunt up in Montana. Easy to carry in the woods and going up and down the hills out there.

Never felt outgunned with the 308

Tikka t3x 30:06 synthetic stock with peep sight and red bead for front sight. I put a limbsaver recoil pad on it too

I use archery for bucks and the .308 for doe patrol. We have to take out so many it just doesn’t pay to use archery equipment. Bullets are cheap, arrows and broadheads not so much, lol.

That's how I am with hog arrows. I just go to wal-mart after deer season goes out and buy a dozen or so of the terminator arrows whenever they have them 80% off.

I guess I will be using the trusty ol' CVA Scout 350 Legend. Since most of my spots are bow spots I love that little rifle. I did buy a CZ Alpha in 6.5 PRC that I want to try on the power line.

Tikka T3 lite 22-250, or Bergara BMR 22-250 (pretty heavy for my old bones). Waiting for a trip to NM and hopefully burn some powder.

Depends on where/how I’m deer hunting. The majority of my deer hunting happens in large coniferous swamps. My go to firearm here is my Ruger 44 Mag Carbine (1971 Vintage) topped with a Leupold 2-7x33 using Hornady Leverevolution ammo.

For sitting field edges or more open hardwood stands my Pre 64 Winchester 70 Featherweight in 308 topped with a Leupold Vari-X III 3x9x40 shooting Norma 150gr loads.

Sometimes my Ruger 77 Hawkeye in 308 Bushnell 3200 Elite 3x9x40 combo. Just because?

Not sure but if I was hunting this year, didn't draw a tag again, it would be either my mod 70 in 6.5x55 or my mod700 in 260 Rem.

Whenever I get back down to the ranch I'll use the AR BO carbine with IR for hogs. Was going this week but she changed the plan. She'd kill me if I shot Bambi.

After 22 years of applying, I drew a Colorado Bull Moose tag. The rifle will be a 1966 Model 70, in 30-06, which my Dad bought new and left to me when he passed. I have been using it as my elk rifle, and now moose. A 168gr Barnes TTSX pushed by RL19 for my load.

I also drew a Mule Deer buck tag, and will use my Harrington & Richardson 300Ultra rifle, in 270win, that I bought new in 1969. A Barnes 130gr TTSX with RL22 will be the load.

To top it off, I also drew a buck antelope tag, and I'll use a T-C Icon in 243, with 80gr Barnes TTSX and H4350.

That looks like a fun-filled fall, with plenty of rifle diversity. I'm excited to see some reports on these hunts!

Didn't see any hogs, maybe an armadillo in the tall grass - just a headlight seen with the IR. Did warm up the Henry Long Ranger (308W) at 200 yds. Need to practice more, just 3 hits on paper plate using 168Amax's.
