Whats Everyones Favorite Thermal Scanner too use?

I'm curious about this.
The Iray shows a field of view of 17.5°×14°, while the Bering shows 17° x 13°. Certainly, that is larger, but not substantially. However, it seems like I've seen you say in another thread that you found it to be a big improvement. On paper, the Phenom shows to have one of the largest FOV for a base 2x scanner. What am I missing?
The specs listed that you see on the Phenom are not correct.

I don't know, I got if from their site: Phenom 640 35mm Lens Americas

Although... now I notice at that top of that page, they list the SKU as BE46235, but in the table (on the same page) it's BE46236.

Also, the table on their site shows a 2.0x base mag, and your table shows 2.5x base mag.
Did they come out with a new version and not change the name, or did they just jack their numbers up?

Initial versions were to be 2X with the bigger FOV, ultimately went with the 2.5X & smaller FOV, but they never updated their specs.

The IRay is a 1x power. The field of view is huge and the clarity is amazing.

Some people think they need a 2x or more to help identify animals. With the IRay Rico RH25 at 1x I can tell the difference in a possum and an armadillo at further distances than my buddies can with their 2 or 2.5 power scanners.

I concur....

One correction though, when used as a hand held scanner, the power is actually 1.3X, it's 1X when used helmet mounted.

I just picked up the RIX Titan T6. I have not hunted with it yet, but it seems like a solid unit. Button layout and image quality is awesome. Seems to have everything I need and nothing I don't, but time will tell. The only downfall I see so far is the rubber tethered front cap.

Let us know how you like it. I'm thinking about getting a Titan T6 myself. Been running a RIX K3 for a couple years and really like it but I have been looking to upgrade without breaking the bank. I like the looks of the ergonomics of the Titan, looks easier for button operation, that in my opinion is one of the down falls I have trouble with sometimes on the K3. Have a good one.

AGM Fuzion 35-640 and a V2 15-384.
The Fuzion has taken a beating and keeps on ticking.
Was looking at getting the ReachIR 35-640 because of the Fuzion's reliability and same control button layout.
The T6 has some great features and image, but it's too long and won't fit in my Bino chest pack.

Ok so I finally got some more time using my scanner (agm Taipan v2 384) and nee scope combo (nocpix H50R). Previous the Nocpix scope in had a 384 AGM Varmint scope and never had an issue with my eyes focusing.

With this new scope and scanner combo, my right eye (scanning and shooting eye) is having a hard time getting focused when switching from the scanner to the scope. It cost me two separate coyotes the other night because I couldn’t even see the reticle. I turned my brightness down on both and still have the problem.

Anyone else ever have this? I think the simple answer is to get a 640 scanner because the Nocpix image is so crisp! Just not when I switch from my scanner.

I use the same scanner as you and an IRay Bolt 640 with zero issues transitioning between the two. Sounds like an issue with the scope or a visit to an Optometrist is needed.
I’ve experimented with my reticle colors and found green works the best for me. I also keep my scanner on white hot and my scope on black hot.

No, but as a 384 thermal scanner user I'm definitely trying out that excuse on my wife to see if works.

I never got the blindness/ blurry vision with the other scope last year. I’m going to try it on the left eye the next time I can go out. Unfortunately, I’m driving back to my state and our season doesn’t open for a few more months. I cleaned house in Nevada this past week though.

what limbhanger10 said is best solution. works perfect. scan with your non shooting eye, leaves your shooting eye crisp and ready to lock onto that coyote or whatever. also leaves the non shooting eye clear for the walk out by the time you gather the dead and your call.
