What's it worth??

My gunsmith buddy bought a bunch of guns recently. One is an 1100 Remington Sporting in 410. Unfired and in the box, 100% new. He said, and I tend to believe him, that these are bringing premium prices. Another is a Winchester 51or61, (can't remember), in 22 Mag. IIRC he said its also unfired but no box. He said its worth quite a bit also.

I'm not sure now but in the past the Remington 1100 in .410 did bring a lot higher premium than a majority of firearms in the same class.

The Winchester 51 for some reason I "think" was a centerfire, and only a few years. The 61 is a rimfire pump it was offered in 22 S/L/LR. The Winchester 61 magnum, was offered in 22 Mag. Which is odd as normally Winchester and other gun companies would have just changed the last digit or assigned a suffix to the model number.
I "think" the median on the magnum is about 1K.

But the actual value is what someone is willing to give, and what someone is will to part with it.

410s are up in price because of TSS and the turkey hunting world.

Not for long. China has stopped exportation of tungsten and bismuth products to US. Two factories have started in the US that are grinding Russian tungsten into parts and shot. Its over twice the price china shot was, so expect around $20 each shells next year. Currently US TSS is about $80/lb.

Winchester 7 1/2 trap loads will kill a turkey DEAD, its what my wife used to kill a gobbler around 30 yards

Yeah good place for it I suppose. I know my buddy is trying to get me to go, Tulsa or not I just see no sense in paying a entrance fee to look at overpriced stuff I can get for less.
Usually.
There hasn't been any decent saving in going to a Gunshow that I've attended in the past 22/23/24 years. And that one is rumored to be the highest priced one in the nation as well as it's claim of largest.

Both guns should bring good money, my Winchester 61M in 22mag l bought new in 1961 a whopping $25 with a trade in rifle. l still have it, it went to Alaska with me in 1964.

Wanamaker is without a doubt, the worlds largest gunshow. The deals are there but most times its people walking the floor. That's where the deals are at. There are table full of hard to find parts and very unique items. Yes there are high prices but sometimes if it hard to find and you need it then you pay or do without. If you've never been, you need to go at least once.

I have probably sold about 100 over my many years with very few regrets. I am not a collector and don’t have what is commonly called “safe queens”. If I don’t use them, I don’t value them but I do genuinely regret letting my son talk me into getting rid of my CZ512, that one I would buy back in a heart beat but not at the prices I see being asked
