whats the best .243 winchester?

I like the model 70 ,been shootin them since the seventys,,my 243 likes,,75 grain sierras over imr 4320. Cant remember the charge specifically would have to check my notes,,but with over 2000 rounds down the pipe she still gives me .25-.40 groups @ 100

Wow! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif That is great advice. I've been pulling up info on your suggestions and there are some great looking guns in your lists. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Should I lean towards the higher twist rate (1 in 9) 243's if I want to shoot a high bc bullet at targets or deer, or is there not enough difference between a 9 or 10 twist to worry about it?

Thanks Guys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I like my new remington .243 sps varmint heavy barrel so far! Yes a 1-9 will do better with bullets at 80 grains and up 1-10 best accuracy will come with 55-80 grain bullets. All remington .243 come with 1- 9 1/8 twist, I have tested 80 nosler bal tips and next up will be 90 swift sciroocos, as it is tough to find another bonded core bullet with that high of BC.

I like my remmy...short,removable clip and the weight is in all the right places. I was sold when i read ordanance grade steel.

My re-stocked factory SPS .243 (9 1/8 twist) shoots good with molyed 87gr VMax & H4350. Really good, in fact...

For deer, I'd shoot the 85gr TSX...

One of shooting buddies just picked up the TC Icon in .243 win. It feels good, looks great, and shoots even better. I am a Remington man but this thing sure is nice.
