Whats the best sound used to call in Bobcats?

I have called in 2 in the same area less than 12 hours apart using death cries of a cottontail rabbit. I am wondering if there is a better call to use. I had a motion decoy out at the time as well. The fist cat crawled within 8' of it before standing with its hair on end arching its back before I shot it. The second spotted me and starred me down untill I shot itand never recovered anything accept for a patch of white fur. boy did that Bob let out a squeal and jumpped about 12' in the air waving its feet around. I just picked up a Whirling woodpecker decoy and a new motion rabbit decoy. Has anyone used more than one motion decoy at one time?

Well sounds like your on the right track so far.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I like the whirling woodpecker, so do the cats. Just keeps them so focused while their coming in.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Besides the sounds you mentioned, they have come to baby cottontail, adult cottontail, lightning jack, jackrabbit distress, snowshoe hare 1,2.

Bird distress of all kinds, especially yellowhammer woodpecker, lucky bird, finch distress.

I hear aggressive bobcat and bobcat in heat works also.

I have still called in cats when I've howled or used hurt pup etc. But I've also seen at least two cats turn and leave the area. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

If you want a cat, then I would suggest leaving any coyote sounds out of the plan.

With all the sounds mention, coyotes will still come in of course..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

like you said about the death cries i have good luck with the high pitched sounds. i use alot of diffrent calls to get the souds im talking about. turn your open reed call sideways.you will get a diffrent tone that is higher and more raspy.

I used the wood pecker and the JIB together last week. It looked really bad, as in it should bring them in. I hung the wood pecker just above the JIB and looked like something was getting got. It didn't produce anthing but that was only one stand. I will use it again like that soon.

my question is how mcuh do you call? with an electric caller can i just let the wood pecker sound just run non stop. i also have whirrling wood pecker. i was told to stay real busy calling when calling cats. the mouth calls i have are tweety and thumper.

thanks

Yesterday here in Commiefornia, I was playing with the FX5, using Rabbit distress, and letting it play non stop... at 22 mins a Bobcat came right in. Ive only called in 2 cats but both came to Rabbit sounds.. not a high volumne of cats in this area, I think most distress sounds may work ?
