What's the craziest thing your dog ever ate?

A stupid lab in my care ate 6 little bags of Just One Bite Decon mouse bait. A 90mph drive to the vet and an injection to make him puke his guts out and a very tense situation turned out well.

Big lesson learned

The second time the lab ate a big bowl of hershy kisses red and green Christmas foil and all. This time I was worried about the foil tearing up the gut so fed her a tiny little bottle of ipicac syrup. She was foaming as the mouth before I had finished dumping it down her throat. She puked for about 3 hours and was fine after a big drink of water. The red and green foil made for really nice Chrismas decorations all over the yard.

FYI---You can buy ipicac syrup at any drug store for about 2 bucks. This can also be used for some really bad pay back on friends and enemys!!!

Well,he's not our's anymore, but we had mountain cur pup who ate a shotshell that was laying in the yard!

My brother tried to pull it out before he swallowed it,but it was to late.

It didn't seem to affect him. He also ate straw and the wood from his dog house. Now he eats meat scraps all the time!

One of my foster dogs ate about an inch off the bottom of my bathroom door and about six inches of molding on either side of the same door. All this in the 30 minutes it took me to drive my son to school. The dog was gone to live at someone elses house before my husband came home.

I had two full racks of babyback ribs that I had dry rubbed, and I was waiting to put the onto the smoker. I went outside to check the smoker's temperature, and when I walked back into the house, I saw the dog in the kitchen, and just a small tip of meat sticking out of his mouth.

I looked at the platter where the 2 racks of ribs WERE, and saw that one whole rack was missing.

The dog made eye contact with me and I told him "OUT".

That dog spat out that ENTIRE rack of ribs, and they didn't have a tooth mark on them. I mean, he didn't chew them, he just swallowed the ENTIRE rack WHOLE! You could have cooked them and served them up, and nobody would have been the wiser.

Needless to say, we only had 1 rack of ribs going into the smoker that day...

I think my Great Dane swallowed a whole live house cat and choked to death in the process. He played with it like a live squeaky toy. The morning I found him dead by my truck the cat was no where to be found and was never seen again.

I have trouble with Budro wanting to eat or roll in OTHER animals turds.
In talking with the vet he said the rolling in it was a way of sent cover, the eating part may have something to do with lack of minerals in diet.

I don't know, I think he does it piss me off because when I catch him he sure gets my attention!

My dog ate as substance I shouldn't have ever had but I was a bad kid. He didn't sleep for a week. This was years ago and he's still alive and kickin' like a champ.

Feed him chunks of pineapple as a treat, they don't like the way it tastes once it's digested.

Just out of curiousity, do you feed Iams or Eukanuba?

my lab kept eating out of the compost bucket when he was young. I'd yell and hit him but he would keep going back. After breakfast one morning I dumped about 15 egg shells into the compost bucket and sure enough here comes Jake (the lab) and he starts munching down the egg shells. I was going to stop him but I figured he would learn after this. Well I was right.

That night I can hear him outside wimping and giving a real loud quick howls, I look out and he's squatted down trying to take a crap. Guess the egg shells coming out wasn't as good going in LOL

True story. Years ago, I owned a Springer. Loved to fetch. One day I notice a sock sticking out. Apparently it didn't come out as easy as it went down. Not really in the mood to grab it and pull it out, I figured I'd let him do it. So I sat him down next to me and stepped on the sock, then threw the ball! Sock came right out!
