What's the velocity difference in a 16 1/2 inch and a 22 inch barrel

but me and my 18 inch 223 are pretty serious. so you might be wrong.

I think if you want a shorty, then get a shorty....

It would be a sweet and handy rifle, especially at the ranges you mentioned. I would consider putting a suppressor on it though, but that's just me...

I took a 243 and cut it to 20", I wish I would have gone shorter for my can.

I put a 18" BHW 223 barrel on a AR, and I am liking it. Can't wait till I get my 6x45 barrel back from them. It's 18" also.

This is a 18"BHW 20 Practical. I don't really care what velocity it is shooting, It seems to work for me with called coyotes.

I will admit, it was originally a 22" barrel, but I took a hacksaw to it and a file to make it look better at the new length. The rifle length gas system worked fine at 18", and it shot about 3/4" groups.

I did take it to my favorite gunsmith and had him recrown it on the lathe and thread it 5/8x24 for the suppressor I have in limbo.
