What's you favorite lightweight scope for coyotes?

Can't say that I'm a huge fan of Vortex but I've got three of their Razor HD LH 3-15x42 scopes on different rifles and the optical quality of the Razor line is very good and the HD LH scope only weighs 16oz

The LH has been discontinued, but this LHT 2-10x40 is a Midway exclusive weighting in at 18.4 ozs.

I bought one a while back, but haven't hunted it yet.

alf, what are your thoughts on it so far? Have you had any issues with it holding zero, its tracking, and its returning to zero after dialing up/down ??

The Razor HD LH scopes I have are hold over setups using the reticle I don't dial with any of them.

I found Euro optics has them on sale, so I will go with your suggestion.

Personally, I would not get the Triangle post reticle. I like the Mil-Dot reticle, but the Duplex would be good also. I also prefer the green dot, but that is a personal choice.

For initial sighting in, it tracked as needed. I have only went to 300 a couple times, so adding 1 1/2 MOA from my 200 zero was really no test to speak of.

I like the reticle, and the hold points line up perfectly for the gun. Nice to have the option to hold or dial.

Typically it's been said you don't need parallax adjustment till 10 or 12X, but it's sure is nice to have, & was a selling point for me.

I like a lot of FOV on the bottom end.so, nothing above 2x on the bottom. Fast target acquisition, being able to track critters moving through the brush and still see an opening ahead of it for a shot.

4x will get me to 300 yards so anything above that is a bonus. My personal distance limit is 300 and I haven't shot one that far in years, most of mine are under 50, I like close.

On combo guns straight tube 1-4x20s with a bold reticle Leupold, Nikkon, they can be mounted low so the rig is easier to fit to me and almost like shooting a nice bird gun. Great rig for thicker cover.

On my average calling bolt action I like 1.5-6x40-44, Burris, Sightron, Meopta, Konus and 1.75-5/6x32, Leupold, Sightron.

For my open country big rifles Athlon Argos 2-12x43, even in open country most of my shots are under 100 yards so my scope always stay on the lowest power.

I don't worry about turrets as my shots are all where I can hold on fur.

I pretty much don't like any scope that doesn't have a side parallax adjustment.

Vortex Sonora 4-12x44 SFP Rifle Scope - Dead Hold BDC Reticle - SON-412

If you're looking for a knock-around, drag through the mud, rain, and snow, here is a good one.
It's a good light and fast scope, and the price is very good.

A Vortex for 90 bucks.
