LC for me, too. I volunteer as a Hunter's Ed Instructor,
and a RSO, so I get to police a lot of .223/5.56 NATO
brass at the range. I keep it all, inspect, clean, and
inspect again. The LC stuff gets sorted out for accurate
load case prep. The rest gets sorted by head stamp, and
loaded mostly for hunting ammo where I don't care to chase
brass. Most of the foreign head stamps go in the re-cycle
bucket, except S&B, and Fiochi. And I agree with previous
posts, Federal Cartridge(FC) is only good for a few loads
before primer pockets get loose. Older Winchester brass
is better than new Winchester brass, IMHO.
If I buy new brass, I purchase LC Match. If I were shooting
long range competition, I might buy Lapua. For "lost
brass" competitions, like a 3 gun, I would shoot any old
brass that gave me 1 MOA accuracy.
