Ruger #1's in custom Lilja 17 Fireball barrel, 6.5 Creedmore and .338 Winchester as a base line up.. Browning 78 in .270 and New England Arms bull barrel 17 HMR (Can ya tell I like single shots)
There are two new guns in process one more on a #1 action and one on a Browning 78 Low wall action (or an orig Winchester if I can find what I am looking for)

I could care less about fur.... all I and the cow guys whose land I shoot on want is dead coyotes..... The "deader" the better.

Scopes range from Leupold Mk 4 LR/T, Mueller, Old Weaver, BSA and Zeiss.

Loads, save for the 17 Furball are factory Hornady box stuff that shoot really well in said guns.

Extra stuff includes Leupold Range finder, Bog Pod Tripod and Harris Bi-pods.

Callers are what ever my buddies bring. I am looking at the new Fox Pro as we speak for this fall....

Interesting thread. I've been trying to decide what I want to use next season.

I've used:

AR15 223 AI, 24" pencil barrel
AR15 243 lbc, 22" standard contour

New options:
RAP 204
AR15 22 Nosler, 18" barrel
AR15 243 Wssm, 22" fluted barrel, pretty light
AR15 6mm Predator, 20" standard contour

All have proven to be very accurate and all would get the job done and all are threaded for suppressors.

Welcome to Predator Masters CATM223!

I probably carry a bit more gear than necessary, but it works well for me.

I frequently call in areas that have a fair amount of low brush, so I like some elevation. For that I rely on my Mojo Critter Sitter. With my Primos Trigger Sticks, I can get nice and solid with my Specialized Dynamics AR15 in .223 (the 2010 Egg Shoot rifle). My setup looks like this.

I started out with only hand calls and killed plenty of coyotes, but a few years ago I won a FoxPro Shockwave that I've had good results with.

Sometimes when the brush is thick and I expect the action to be fast, I'll tote an old Mossberg 500 turkey gun.

Wow, you guys have been great taking time to share your hunting setups!
As of the 28th of May I will be 5 years retired from the Air Force, hence my user name CATM that stands for Combat Arms Training and Maintenance. When I retired I was so over the AR thing and I have been really looking for a bolt action that is accurate and affordable. I have stayed with the 223 cal just because I know it and it is available everywhere. My wife shoots the 204 ruger, but eventually I would like two identical rifles. thanks again for everyone's input..

Thanks for your service CATM,,, just learned yet another DoD acronym !!
Given what you just said, take a long look at the Ruger American Predator in 223.
I have two, 243, 6.5 Cm and a 22 WMR Ruger American, & like them all.
The RAP is threaded, so either muzzle break or can ready..

Oh, almost forgot, my 243 RAP is the heavy duty stick I pull out of the safe when I feel the need for more predator power...
it wears a big 56 mm Vortex scope for low light purpose.

I have several but my go to for coyotes is a TC Venture .243 with a vortex Diamondback 4-12. I have since switched to a 6-18 Redfield. I handload 55gr Sierra BlitzKings at 3800 fps and they don't exit coyotes. Just drops them dead.
Here's a pick from one stand where I went 5/5 on totes with this rifle. .. which only holds 4 rounds.

i have also used my CZ527 in .223 and can't wait to try my new CZ527 Varmint chambered in .17 Remington.

I've had several different rigs in the past year:
cz 550 varmint in 22-250 w/ Nikon 6.5-20
ruger ar556 od green w/nikon 4-12
ruger american predator 6.5 creedmoor w/ nikon 4-12
remington 700 vs 22-250 w/ leupold straight 10x
right now i am running a
savage model 12 varmint 223 w/ leupold straight 12x
tikka t3 stainless 25-06 w/ leupold straight 10x
the 6.5 creamer was by far my favorite round and had the least fur damage out all the above when shooting the hornady american white tails with the 129gr soft points

A few different guns from oldest to newest,
Rem. 700 VSSF II 22-250 Nikon 4.5-14x40 mil-dot
Rock River 20" Predator Pursuit, Leupold Mark AR 3-9x40 mil-dot
Rock River 18" R-3 competition, Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4 fire-dot
FoxPro CS-24
FoxPro CS-24C
MoJo Critter decoy
FoxPro Jack Attack decoy
Primos hand calls
And a little bit of luck some days!
Good Luck for the upcoming season.

I tend to switch around pretty often. I usually use a 17 or 20 cal but on this stand I called these rascals in with a CS24, and used My little Kimber Montana in 223 with a Leupold VX3 3.5x10x40.

If I am hunting fox and bobcat I run either a Mossberg 500 12 guage or my .17Remington chambered AR-15 depending on brush thickness. I usually use my FoxPro Scorpion. My .17Remington has a Nikon 2.5-10 BDC scope.

If I am hunting coyotes then I run either my AR-15 in 6.5Grendel or my AR-10 in .308 both with my Phantom QD stainless suppressor, and I use my FoxPro CS-24. My Grendel has a Millet 4-16x50mm mil-dot reticle and my .308 is running a Nikon Coyote Special 4-12x40mm.
