512 is my longest, and I don't know who was more surprised, him or me. I did not recover that coyote. At the impact, he yipped and spun around several times biting at his side, then took off over a hill.
Rifle was my Sako L461 in 222RemMag, shooting 45gr Barnes XLC's, and most likely a 3x12 Burris Signature on it.
That was back in the 90's. Since then, my longest shots have been under 350, with the vast majority of those under 200.
I like to get them in as close as possible, but hunting public lands late in the season means I have to take a longer shot on occasion.
