Well I got my dies last week and my barrel should be coming in pretty soon (9.5 weeks), so it's time to start thinking about loads!

I've heard XBR 8208 is where it's at for the lighter stuff. I'm planning on shooting 55 and 70gr NBTs for now.

Let's hear em!

Edit to add: I've got a TON of h322, some XBR, and a local shop that has H4895 so loads with those powders get extra brownie points.

Gold standard is 30-31.5 grains of 8208 and a 58 VMAX.

It likes around 30 with 8208 and the 70 TNT. It REALLY likes AA2015 and the 70's between 28-29

None were overly hot BTW.

My go to coyote load was 31.5g x8208, 55g NBT, 2.250"col, 3344 av FPS, 22" bbl.
My other loads were 31g BM, av 3498 fps, 31g H335 av 3406 fps, 2.250"col, 55g NBT
28g h4198, 55g NBT, 2.250", av 3611 fps.
All the above run under and inch @ 100 yds and had no issues to 600 yards.
I see no reason to run a heavier bullet for coyote.
All coyote shot w/the 55g NBT were dropped on the spot to 467 yards.

Thanks for the load advice guys!

It sounds like they've done very well for you. The reason I was thinking 70s had a lot to do with the performance of the 58gr z/vmax in my 6x45. I know the NBT and vmax aren't the same bullet but I was getting A LOT of BIG surface splashes with the 58zmax even at 6x45 speeds. I don't aim for the shoulder but I seem to hit it a lot more than I'd like.

In your experience, will the 55NBT punch through a shoulder at 6x6.8 speeds? My hope is that with this rifle, I can shoot through bone or take a Texas heart shot at one running away. Pelts are never pretty here so that's not a big concern, I just want DRT.

Out of the 16 Ive shot with my 55NBT 6x6.8 load 7 were through the shoulder and I had 5 exits, the rest stayed inside destroying internals.
I have never had a "splash" w/either the 58g VM or 55g NBT.
All the soft tissue (behind the shoulder/center mass hits) passed through leaving a golfball size hole and dropped on the spot.

Agreed ^^^ the only reason I run the 70's over the 55's are b/c of pig and deer. the only non exit on a coyote I had was a 40 yard shot strait to the chest. but Ill tell you what. Iv never seen a coyote drop that fast and sound as squishy on the inside as that one.
