Wheels are turning

Wheels are turning in my head about adding another rifle to the collection. Seriously considering a 6x45 for my next build. Just trying to convince myself that I don’t need it lol. I’ve already got a 243 and 20practical plus a 17hornet so adding the 6x45 will just fall in the middle of it all for predator/varmint rifles.

I’ve got a AR lower waiting for a upper so I’ll probably go that route but also thinking a bolt gun instead.

Seriously check out 6mm Mongoose. Its a much better designed 6x45. I have one from Mad dog weapon systems. It may be the most accurate rifle I have.

The 6mm Mongoose is .223 case based, but its cut down a little and has a sharp shoulder. Its efficient and designed to handle longer bullets without taking up powder space and still be able to fit mag length.

My barrel is a 1:8 and shoots 55gr SBKs at 3450fps very accurately and manages to shoot 87gr Vmaxes at 2800fps. I haven't tried heavier loads but I took a 375lb boar with the 80gr GMX.

It's a great cartridge especially for AR platform.

Hmm never heard of it before but did a quick google search. The dies are sold out on mad dog I didn’t see them available on midway. Are they available elsewhere?

You've got a 243 for souped up 6mm loads, the standard 6x45 is a fun cartridge. I've built a 6mm-204 in the past and a great cartridge. I needed a action for a 20P and pulled the 6mm-204 barrel for the 20P project and rely on my Rem 600, PacNor barrelled 6x45 to do any 6mm work that needs doing.

You already have 6mm bullets and 223 cases are easily had. You need it. Then put together a 6x6.8. Ohhhh the dreaded duplicate post!
