Do most of you not hunt during the summer? If not,is it because of the pups or because the pelt isn't prime? If it is the pups, what month should I start hunting them again?

I will start Aug 1, if possible. Here in the desert it is still far too hot, so I go to the mountains and camp. The date is somewhat set for me in that the bobcat season reopens Aug first. (Last year I was so anxious that I drove to the hunt area late on July 31, so I could start first thing when bobcat opened....)

Hi fellas, I usuall start back about the last week of Aug. this is when the kids go back to school and I seem to get settled down and find enough time to go alittle. But about the mid sept mark is when I really start getting into the grove. JB

As many will say, if it's the sport your out there for, let em den and do thier duty.
Then there's ADC workers that have to do thier duty. It's half a dozen of one and six of another.
I don't think pelts are a big issue right now because coyotes aren't worth a whole lot at the time, this past winter either for that matter.
I, personally hang it up when the morels start popping up, usually because I can't make it through the under brush any more. Unless I get word that friends are having problems with coyotes durring calving on the farm.

For the most part,I stop when the snow leaves in late April, and start back up after deer season in Nov. I don't worry about pups,as I pretty much stay in an area that we manage for deer and try to remove as many as possible.
I have been trying this spring with a Phantom caller and a fawn decoy, tough sledding so far, having brought in two bear and a couple fox,but we cleaned 'em out pretty good over the winter.
