Where is the best place to find used rifle scopes?

I've checked out the classified section here but at seems like most of the quality scopes get snatched up pretty quick.

Anyone know a good market for used scopes?

Honestly, scopes are the one thing I wouldn't buy used. I can rebuild or fix anything wrong on just about any firearm, so buying a used gun doesn't phase me at all, but if there's something wrong with a scope, it's a dead loss.

Unless it is backed by a good warrantee. Iwould be cautious of e-bay but would not hesitate to by one from one of "us" and have so in the past.

We have bought and sold a number of used scopes here in the classifieds with no trouble at all. If you buy a reputable brand with good customer service it reduces worries.
One concern now is getting a fake in some models. Gunbroker has quite a few listed.

We all know the warranty a luppy has and I called burris today to see if I bought a used burris if they would cover the warranty and they told me it didnt matter if you were the 1st or the 10th owner of the scope they would cover it.

e-bay would be my bet but i'd rather buy one from us here..

I wouldnt e-bay unless it was a Burris, Leupold or some other manufacturer with a lifetime no hassle warranty. E-bay has had some big scams involving fake Luppys, for me thats not a problem, but for some it might be. I would buy one from anyone here. I have sold one or 2 here.

Ebay has had issues on some of the high dollar scopes being counterfeit. Some Leupold Mark 4s, Swarski and Ziess have all popped up being counterfeit. It could happen with any make and model, but the counterfeiters propbably wouldn't bother with a cheap model. Try plugging the brand and model in google. You might find someone online that has good deals. If you have never heard of them, wait a few months to make sure they are still in business before you buy. Or ask the guys here if they have dealt with a particular vendor. I believe leupold has a warning on their web site about the counterfeit mark 4s and they tell you how to ID the real deal.
Good luck

I've had pretty good luck at a couple of local pawn shops. I do try to stick to scopes with lifetime warrentee's. It helps if you deal with folks that you have known for a while and will take something back if it's broken.

I thought everybody had sworn off ebay because they won't allow any gun related parts on there. How are scopes still sneaking through?????

Ebay only bans items that can be used into making a functional weapon. But accessories are allowed, like mounts, bolt knobs, stocks, bipods and things like that are allowed.

If I were going to buy a used scope I would look at SWFA and buy one of there demo models or refurbs.

Would any of you guys be interested in a Bushnell 3200 Elite tatical/target 10X 40mm? I put it on the new Coyote last night and I just don't care for the mil-dot reticle. It's perfect, has one place where the ring left a mark in the finish, otherwise perfect. I have the box and papers and will ship Priority Mail. $150 shipped.
