where to for hog hunting

have never shot a hog where would be the best, or the closest place to shoot one. i am in central idaho?

Closest is probably California. Best depends one what you call best I guess.

yellowhammer thanks for the map. it shows a spot in oregon that has a hog population does anybody here know what the regs might be there ?

I wouldn't waste your time looking in oregon hogs are few and far between and if there are any they're on private land.

I've been looking for a couple of years, and with the problems they have in Texas and the devastation they cause, one would think there would be places to go. But every one wants to charge several hundred dollars and then for the most part you are limited to maybe 2 hogs. If there are free places to go it seems they are hush hush about it. One of these days.

Good hogs in California, but it's going to cost you. Cheaper in Texas or Oklahoma. Google and the phone are your friends. It's unlikely you'll find a place to hunt free, but for a hundred a day or so, you should be able to find a place to whack a few meat hogs and have a good time.
