Where's all the .454 Casull ammo gone to???

Kiz. I think you'll be happy with a Dillon. I've been reloading 38 years now, a great hobby. Reloadings a money saver and you know what your shooting. Groups will improve as you find the perfect loads. 650 is one heck of nice a press. Wish I could swing one. I'd have to sell another gun, kidney or something.

Well, I've just ordered:

The Beginner's Guide to Reloading Ammunition: With Space and Money Saving Tips for Apartment Dwellers and Those on a Budget
by Steven Gregersen

and

Reloading for Handgunners by Patrick Sweeney

I'm also going to get the Dillon DVD for the 650 before I order the machine itself.

"The plunge" begins...

It's a worthy plunge. Heck, you can do anything. Load up shotshell snake loads for revolvers, whatever you want to play with. Lighter load lead cast rifle bullets with gas checks. It's alot of fun. I never tire of reloading for handguns, rifles and shotguns. Black powder shotgun is fun too, no press needed you can load what you want afield

If you're tight on space, I'll try to snag a pic of my current "space limited" reloading bench. 2'x2' tabletop mounted on a Black & Decker "Workmate", all the tools bolted in place. Super handy, and really efficient for what I need. I had to give up my "workshop" for my son's room, so I had to come up with a space saving solution.

Please do, Varminterror. My little workshop is cluttered up with woodworking stuff at the moment. I have a B&D workmate hanging on a hook right now that I haven't used in years.

To heck with the ammo. Ruger no longer lists the full size .454 Super Redhawk on their website, only the Alaskan. First the Redhawk, now this!!!

The Alaskan still is made in 454, if I remember correctly. 44 mag, 454, and 480. I haven't checked up on it in a while though..

I reload for my 454 and have almost 500 loaded up with 240 and 300 grainers. Just picked up a Super Redhawk in 480 last week to match the 454. Loaded up my first rounds for it over weekend with 400 grain Hornady XTP's. Any interest in selling any brass for the 454 let me know. Love the big bore pistols

Sorry I cant be of more help, but me and a buddy just loaded some 300gr XTPs. This was Saturday night. Super Redhawk!

Thanks. It couldn't be easier with the camera my parents got me for Christmas, not a spendy one ether. Can do 70 frames a second. This is my buddy, the camera got two good shots of him.

Yep. I'm about done reading my books, and I'm cleaning out the workshop this weekend. Then it'll be time to hit the Dillon website!
