i was looking for a ar scope mount. thought about the burris pepr but i hear the larue tactical lt104 is one of the best i may have the model number wrong. im going to use it with a 1 inch tube on my new 6x45 i just got my new upper reciever from frontier arms yesterday. these upper recievers with the black hole weaponry barrel are pretty cool looking. will let you how it shoots as soon as i get my trigger and hammer assembly back from bill springfield. working on getting a scope and a ar mount to finish this build.

ROCK RIVER cantilever will do great i have 3 and they work fine glad to hear your upper looks that good i have a oly 6x45 upper and am thinking of ordering

All depends on the money you want to spend. The burris PERP mount is great, just ordered a second one. I had an armalite one piece and it is a little low for my fat cheek. I really had to bury my cheek into the stock. I got warne rings on another AR and burris tacticle rings on another, but have put the PERP on the last one and love it, especially the price. Just ordered another one for my latest build and got it from JoeBoboutfitters for $68. They are rock solid.

But if you have money to burn go for the LeRue.

i see the larue comes with the quick detatch mount and a vfz mount. anyone use the larue with the vfz mount. it is about 40.00 dollars cheaper.

I have a P.E.P.R. on my current AR, but the one I am building now will eventually get a Bobro mount. The P.E.P.R. is ok, but I want a quick detach one because I will be swapping the scope back and forth with an Eotech and the Larue's will eventually start to mare the finish on your rail if you take them off and put them back on enough times.

Dway,, Just another line of thought to your swapping idea...as I do the same thing, but I'm a "Cheapie" when it comes to spending...The DPMS has been used in a lot of competitions and the need to change optics easily, to match the various stages is almost a necessity...

Why not just get an upper receiver with an EOP (Elevated Optical Platform) that will allow you to use regular Quick Detach rings from Warne (or others) and swap optics to your hearts content, much cheaper than the high dollar mounts?

The uppers cost about $80 when I bought them and in the long run was a lot cheaper than some of the mounts that were available at the time..

I have two ARs with the EOPs and they both work well for putting the scope, with regular rings at usable height...

OldTurtle, the thought of adding a rail like that and using quick detach rings has crossed my mind. I was just concerned about how well they would hold a zero vs a one piece mount. Have you noticed it changing at all after being removed and reinstalled?

Have you noticed it changing at all after being removed and reinstalled? The EOP is not an added on fixture, but part of the cast/machined upper and is non-removable....

I've swapped optics from the EO-Tech, to the 2-7x, to a 6-24x with no loss of zero between them....Of course, each was pre-zero'd before switching at a range...for that particular rifle...

There are risers that are made for elevating optics on flat tops and IMHO, they are a waste of money and time as they have a tendency to loosen with time and use...

I do have a LaRue on another of my ARs and have had no problems with it either, but then I never remove the scope from that rifle, under normal circumstances. I just needed a mount to move the scope more forward...
