I want to start reloading for a 17 Fireball I just bought. Here is what I have bought:

- Forster Co-AX B3 reloading press
- 17 Remington Fireball Type S Neck Bushing Die (Redding)
- 17 Remington Fireball Full Length Die Set (Redding)
- Model 2400 Match Precision Case Trimmer, Cast Iron Frame, Micrometer Makes Easy Adjustments of .001" (Redding)

Not sure what kind of measuring powder device I need. What powder works best?

Thanks for you help

Im going to be reloading for my .204 as well. I'm assuming that I can use the same powder? I just want to know if I have the right dies, if not, which ones do I need to get.

Thanks again

H322 would be a good choice of powder to try in the 17 Fireball.

Your Redding dies will work fine. My choice would have been Forster Benchrest die set with a Lee Collet neck sizer. Your trimmer is the same one I use and I really like the Redding powder measure with their trickler. Scales I use are RCBS 10-10. Oh, and a VLD chamfer tool is almost a must. I really like CRT's chamfer tool and powder measures.

I bought RCBS dies that came with a bent decapping pin.

So I ordered a HORNADY DIE SET for my new 17 FIREBALL while I waiting for my new pins and I'M very glad I did!!!

The HORNADY SEATING DIE has a drop tube that grabs the tiny 17 cal. bullet and guides it upwards to be inserted straight into the case.

With the RCBS I had to try to hold the tiny bullet while I rammed upwards and 1 out of 4 times the bullet went crooked and when I would lower the ram to try to reseat the bullet would be somewhat stuck up the die.
When it did go into the bullet the V-MAX plastic tip would be chipped/damaged and COL was very inconsistent.

The HORNADY grabs the bullet, guides it and never damages the plastic tip and I can seat 9/10 bullets with consistent COL to .001" .

GET THE HORNADY DIES!!!
