Which would be the best choice out of the two smallbore rifles I currently own for coyote hunting where shots could go out to 150+ yards. 22 Hornet or 220 Swift. Also if the Swift is chosen are there bullets that will keep damage to the hides to a minimum. I do handload if thats helps but have heard the Swift does not take kindly to reduced loads as far as accuracy. How does the 220 Swift rate as a coyote gun
Thank you

The hornet will be enough out to 150 yrds, but I would opt for the swift. Better to have the extra power and not need it than to need it and not have it. If Q can shoot 100+ coyotes a year (durring prime fur season) and sell them using the swift, it must not be that bad. Of course, shot placement with which ever you choose will account for alot also.

That's what I like to hear. Someone buying a swift that already owns a 250...!!!

I shoot Swift's all year long... PD's, Coyote's, Deer.. Doesn't matter.. I don't really notice that it is really any harder on fur than any other rifle. My 25-06 is a little rough, but can't expect much less.

It has much more potential that the hornet to cause fur damage, but will also anchor that coyote for you at any range you can hit him at...!!! Try the Nosler 55 bt's, their accurate and deadly...
