Which is the best action for a 220 Swift build?

I apologize for the bad behavior in this thread.

In the future I'll try to keep my posts short and irrelevant like most on this (and other) forums.

I likes the older Sako AII actions . This is what my 220 Swift is built on. All steel top to bottom. Machined from forgings. Solid one piece receiver including the recoil lug. A stable flat based action. No investment castings, no piano wire. The triggers can be safely adjusted down to 2 pounds by someone who knows what they are doing.I'm talking about the older A series actions AI, AII, AIII, AV. I don't like anything about the new Sakos built after Berreta got hold of them. Only problem is going to be finding one. So ignore this post, and I'll crawl back under the rock I emerged from! Go with one of the bench rest actions. I don't know enough about them for a recomendation, but I'm shure you will get good advice from someone on this site. I bought a brand new Sako AII from JB at Accuflight. I can't decide if I want to build a 243 Ackley or a standard 22-250 on this one. I also found a brand new, old stock Sako Rifle in 270 Win on the AIII action off Guns America that I bought just for the action. Sold the stock and factory barrel on ebay. By the time the smoke cleared, it was like paying $300.00 for the action. I know for certain I'm building a 6MM Ackley on this one. I guess I really like Sako Actions.

Oh, and for the smart aleck with the "If I do my part" comment( I just looked, it was Catshooter, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif wow, shouldn't have even had to look), When you have a 16 pound gun sitting on sand on a solid bench rest, there's not much human factor there, unless you're blind and can't put the reticle on the same spot on the target each time. I didn't include that qualification because I don't feel that my skills or lack there of, have much to do with the way the gun shoots when it's sitting solid. I say this, because I can't hit s#!t without a good rest, even prone with a bi-pod gives me trouble. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Old Chinese proverb:

"When fool dig himself into hole, no interfere, sit back and watch!"

You hijacked it - it's now your thread, just keep on diggin', you're doing fine.

Thanks Catshooter, I almost swallowed my dip from laughing so hard. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Getting back on the subject, I just had a 243 built with a Stiller Predator action. So far I am very pleased. It cycles very smooth and locks up tight. The bolt release is on the side and makes cleaning a snap. Other than that it is very similar to a Remington action.
