Which moderately priced 22lr?

Soviet made Whisper-03 now marketed by Winchester. However, the Winchester does not include the free floated, pillar bedded target barrel, or the fully adjustable target trigger. How do you post pictures to this MM Forum? I was wanting to send some target photos. I have head shot squiirrels (by luck probably) around 80 yards using iron sights. I've got another one that has a 2.5x7x30 Nikon scope on it that I believe was band under Obama/Geneva Convention (Just kidding). The Winchester Model has prettier wood but they stripped all of the accuracy out of the rifle.

Another model you may want to consider is the Taurus Gallery pump rifle. Beautiful wood and metal blueing and suprisingly accuarate.

I think Swift is on to something good.
My first rifle of any kind was a Remington 510 single shot 22. It was made of Steel, and Walnut. I traded it off a long time ago, but found one to replace it recently, so I bought it. I have a Weaver 2-7x rimfire scope on it that cost more than I paid for the rifle; scope cost was $120, and I paid $98 for the rifle, which is good condition. Also, it shoots well. I can drop 5 shots into a 3/4" group at 50 yards with the combo, shooting Wolf Match Target ammo.
I think a Rem 510, or a 511 which is clip fed, or a 512, a tubular magazine design, might be a better route to go than a newly made rifle. Just an option to think about.
